Not all anime revolve around spectacular transformations or battles powerful enough to destroy the planet. Shows like “Bocchi The Rock” are more subdued, captivating audiences with heartwarming narratives that merge anime style with real-life struggles. Following the initial success of the music-themed anime centered on Hitori Gotoh, “Bocchi” was given two full-length movies that summarized the series events. These films proved popular at the box office and we are delighted to announce that the rock and roll anime is set for a return.
In Tokyo, Japan, during a notable occasion, the team behind “Bocchi The Rock” revealed that a second season was in production, with CloverWorks once again leading as the principal animation studio. Known for productions such as “The Promised Neverland,” “Spy x Family,” “My Dress-Up Darling,” “Wind Breaker,” and “The Elusive Samurai,” CloverWorks has made a significant mark in the anime industry. However, unlike the first season, the director’s role will be filled by a new creator, Yuusuke Yamamoto, who previously served as assistant director. A specific release date has not been announced yet, but this development is exciting news for fans of “Bocchi.” You can watch the announcement video for season two below.
Bocchi The Rock’s Creative Team Chimes In
Initially, the director for the first season of “Bocchi the Rock”, Keiichiro Saito, declared his successor for season two and expressed enthusiasm. He said, “Bocchi the Rock! I’m thrilled to announce that we are passing the baton of director to Yamamoto Yusuke for season two! Although the anime has concluded, there has been an immense amount of excitement building up for a second season. I am confident that many people have been tirelessly working towards making this happen. So, I’m delighted to share this news with everyone. I believe Yamamoto will create an anime filled with humor, cuteness, and passion, so I can’t wait to see it! Bocchi the Rock! The fun continues! Thank you.
In their own words, Yusuke Yamamoto, director of season two, shared insights about the anticipated return of the popular franchise. He expressed, “Although it might be premature to reveal details now, we chose today to make the announcement since we want to connect with a wide range of fans. We are thrilled to bring back the charm of cable tie bands!”
On behalf of the New Bozaro production team, we invite you to lend us your warm support.
Bocci The Rock’s Rocking Memes
2024, just before the announcement of season two, I (as an enthusiast at egmr.ru) had a delightful conversation with Yoshino Aoyama, the voice behind Hitori Gotoh. She shared an intriguing insight about the surge in popularity of Bocchi The Rock, attributable to its memes. “It was almost as if I saw videos featuring my voice being used globally, sparking excitement and creating a wave of memes,” she said. “This phenomenon was entirely new to me. Interestingly, I find a strong connection between my character’s journey in Bocchi The Rock and my own past struggles with low self-confidence.
