At Vengeance Day, it didn’t take much time for the NXT scene to witness a title shift in the picture. The opening bout of the night was nothing short of dramatic as it decided the fate of the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Fallon Henley from Fatal Influence faced off against Stephanie Vaquer, and the match lived up to all expectations. Until now, Fatal Influence had been in control of NXT, but that dominance came to an end tonight. Instead, it was Stephanie Vaquer who grabbed the title, dethroning Henley and claiming her first Women’s North American Championship belt in WWE, a significant milestone for one of WWE’s rising stars.
Multiple times, it appeared that Henley would hold onto the Championship, notably following Jacy Jayne’s unnoticed punch to Vaquer. However, Vaquer managed to avoid being pinned, and just moments later, Henley launched another powerful sequence of moves, nearly regaining the title once more.
Despite facing numerous obstacles, Vaquer managed to persevere and maintain her position in the match. Eventually, her offense proved too strong for Fallon to handle. As a result, Vaquer now holds the Women’s North American Championship title, and the future seems particularly promising for both Vaquer and one of NXT’s latest championships.
Regarding Fatal Influence, it’s now intriguing to consider their next destination. They might decide to stay put and aim for a different championship, which is certainly possible. However, it appears more plausible that they will transition to the main roster and establish a fresh journey there, offering them a kind of clean start.
Henley has had a strong stint in the Championship, but it seems like the team as a whole is struggling to move forward. They’re eager to shake things up on either Raw or SmackDown, with Jayne being particularly primed for a promotion that she’s been anticipating for years now. Notably, recent rumors suggest that some roster cuts were made to pave the way for several NXT recruits. Given this context, it’s plausible that Fatal Influence might be among the newcomers making their debut sooner than expected.
