Miley Cyrus Stuns in Black Gown at SNL 50 Red Carpet

We can’t help but adore Miley Cyrus‘ evening ensemble.

On February 16th, the artist known for “Flowers” turned heads in a stunning outfit as he graced the red carpet to celebrate Saturday Night Live’s 50th season at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

For the special occasion of the sketch-comedy show, Miley donned a black, one-shoulder dress boasting a tuxedo lapel neckline. She accessorized with black heels, a smoky makeup style, and her hair styled up in a blonde-brown bun. (Catch all the stars on the red carpet here.)

It’s not surprising that the Grammy winner, with her mom Tish Cyrus and boyfriend Maxx Morando by her side, was eager to shine for SNL 50: The Anniversary Special. Given her past experiences hosting and performing on the show, it’s only natural. Although her last hosting stint was in 2015 following her appearances in 2013 and 2011, she has graced the Studio 8H stage for performances in 2015, 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021.

In 2011, the opportunity to host presented itself to her at a pivotal moment in her career. Interestingly, only a month before making her debut on season 36, she found herself in a public scandal when an image of her using psychedelic plant salvia surfaced online.

Miley stated on the ‘Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music’ documentary, which aired January 27, that many people were apprehensive about collaborating with her. However, Lorne Michaels becomes particularly enthusiastic when given the opportunity to work with someone like me because I was perceived as not entirely comprehended or unpredictable, which perfectly aligns with the essence of this show.

As I stood backstage, heart pounding, I couldn’t help but feel the immense burden of responsibility that came with leading this incredible show – a fact subtly reinforced by its brilliant creator before we began.

She observed that he often uses the phrase, “it’s a tightrope act.” In essence, he means that the audience wants to watch the performer succeed without falling. Essentially, the core of the show lies in this tension. Do you possess the necessary skills, or not? It’s evident that people are judged based on their abilities and true nature.
