Perhaps Kim Kardashian only SKIMmed the surface of her comedy skills last time.
Almost four years later, the Kardashians’ star graced the stage once again on SNL 50: The Anniversary Special on Feb. 16, kicking off the evening with her first sketch – demonstrating that she can easily match her co-stars’ pace.
In the sketch of The Lawrence Welk Show, hosted by Fred Armisen, Kristen Wiig once again brought laughter as Dooneese Maharelle, renowned for her diminutive doll-like hands. Notably, Scarlett Johansson, Ana Gasteyer, and Kim played their parts as Janice, Margaret, and Holly, Dooneese’s three sisters respectively.
The Maharelle quartet gracefully appeared onstage, each donning lavender tutus, as they crooned an old-fashioned tune to the Will Ferrell portrayal of Robert Goulet’s character.
Kim crooned, ‘It would be delightful to be seated beside you,’ and the other sisters harmonized. ‘We’re hoping that you’ll choose, among us, who becomes your future spouse,'”
or simply:
“Kim sang, ‘Let’s sit next to you’, and her sisters echoed, ‘And we hope you’ll pick one of us as your wife.’
“Sisters cute as cute can be,” they continued. “Soon you’ll fall for one of us three.”
Scarlett exclaimed, “We tend to overlook the fact that mom gave birth to four,” followed by Kristen’s witty response, “I emerged through a different opening.
Later, she made clear her inappropriate remark by explaining, “If you attempt to figure out the meaning of my statement, considering where the ‘hole’ would fit in, it refers to the one located at the back.
In a different part of the song, Kristen playfully swatted Kim’s bottom with Dooneese’s small hands, keeping rhythm with the drums, and stuck her fingers into Will’s mouth. It seems that Robert Goulet found this amusing or enjoyed it.
Will replied, ‘I don’t dislike it,’ but surprising even himself, he found himself confessing, ‘I think I might be falling for you. Whatever you say won’t alter my feelings.’
In a test of his hypothesis, Dooneese Maharelle admitted an unusual incident: “I swallowed a bird, went to watch a film, found myself laughing at the movie. The bird later flew out, but it had choked on popcorn. I administered CPR and the bird took flight again, but I managed to catch it and consumed it uncooked. Is that wrong?
Will ended with, “Wow and to think I almost picked Kim Kardashian.”
During a different part of the melody, Kristen playfully slapped Kim on the backside using Dooneese’s small hands in rhythm with the drums, also sticking her fingers into Will’s mouth. It seemed that Robert Goulet found this amusing or engaging as well.
In a surprising turn of events, Will expressed, “It’s not that I despise it, but rather, I find myself developing feelings for you that I can only describe as affectionate, to the point where no words from you could alter my feelings.
In a test of his hypothesis, Dooneese Maharelle shared her most intimate secret: “I swallowed a bird, went to watch a movie, found myself laughing at the film, and eventually, the bird expelled itself, only to choke on some popcorn. I performed CPR on it, but it managed to escape, yet I pursued it and consumed it uncooked. Was that wrong?
Will ended with, “Wow and to think I almost picked Kim Kardashian.”
