Bad Bunny Opens Up About Hosting SNL for the First Time

Bad Bunny loves trying new things.

A year following the “Monaco” rapper’s dual role as host and musical performer on Saturday Night Live, he opened up about his experience.

Bad Bunny found it incredibly surprising, as he shared with Leslie Jones during SNL 50: The Anniversary Special’s red carpet event on Feb. 16,” said Bad Bunny. “However, what truly astonished me was that I actually preferred being the show host over performing musically.

Ultimately, this opportunity allowed the musician known as Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio to experiment with something fresh.

In his own words, “It’s a distinct activity from what I normally engage in.” (Check out the celebrities on the red carpet here.)

In the most recent installment of the “Domingo” sketches, he experienced a delightful surprise when Sabrina Carpenter, Pedro Pascal, Molly Shannon, Martin Short, Andy Samberg, among others, unexpectedly appeared. Previously introduced in October, Domingo (Marcello Hernandez) was joined by Pedro and the “Dakiti” rapper as his brothers Ronaldo and Santiago in this fresh remix.

Despite finding it a privilege to lead the sketch-comedy program, Bad Bunny acknowledged the significant responsibility that came with preparing for two roles, given that there are fewer than 50 individuals who have managed this feat.

On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he confessed that he was tired before the show but found the entire process, including the cast and producers, quite enjoyable. He added that the atmosphere was really cool, and he felt thankful.

As a devoted fan, I’ve always admired how adventurous Bad Bunny is, never shying away from novel experiences – such as his bold foray into acting with his first role in the series, Narcos.

In essence, he pondered over the similarities between giving a performance during a concert and acting. During his conversation with Jimmy Fallon in 2021, he expressed, “It’s distinct yet it’s also identical.

In my professional journey, I strongly advocate for dedication, accountability, and mutual respect among team members. This approach isn’t entirely foreign to me; in fact, I’ve found it immensely rewarding. I’m continually learning, honing my skills, and growing within this philosophy.
