Capcom’s Monster Hunter Ridges is just over two weeks from release, and fans can hardly contain their excitement, particularly regarding its end-game content. However, if you’re hoping for a Siege-style raid quest like Safi’jiiva or Kulve Taroth from Monster Hunter World, you might be disappointed to learn that there are no immediate plans for such features at this time.
Hey MP1st! When I chat with producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Yuya Tokuda about Monster Hunters Wilds, they shared some exciting insights. For now, they’re focusing on a four-player multiplayer experience, similar to what we enjoyed in Monster Hunter World with the Kulve Taroth raid. However, they haven’t finalized any plans for a 16-player raid in the end-game of Monster Hunter Wilds just yet.
Regarding the question about why this wasn’t available initially, they explained that, much like how “Monster Hunter World” didn’t have its raid quest at launch but received it as an update later, the same applies to the raid quest in “Monster Hunter Wilds”. They want users to familiarize themselves with the gameplay first and enjoy it, before introducing more challenging content and enjoyable elements once they’ve completed the initial stages.
In the game, upon launch, there are no current arrangements for raid quests. This is reminiscent of how we managed Monster Hunter World, where we deliberately chose not to include them, and it’s not due to any technical limitations.
At this stage, what’s missing may not be added right away or immediately, but it’s not definitively ruled out for the future. The plans can shift over time.
The action-packed game titled “Monster Hunter Wilds” is set to release on February 28th, available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms. Following its launch, players can anticipate Mizutsune as the first free post-release monster, introduced in Update 1 along with event quests and additional updates. Another beast will be added to the lineup this Summer, accompanied by even more event quests, so keep a close eye for further announcements.
