Nick and Vanessa Lachey Get Emotional as Son Camden Turns 13!

For Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey, their kids are their everything.

It’s quite challenging to watch their three kids – Camden (12), Brooklyn (10), and Phoenix (8) – grow up. In fact, the couple recently became teary-eyed when they realized that Camden is about to reach a significant milestone this year.

On Entertainment Tonight, Nick revealed that our eldest will become a teenager later this year. This news left Vanessa feeling quite emotional, causing her to express “oh dear” and start tearing up.

Vanessa said, her voice trembling, ‘They’re developing,’ she explained as she spoke of her affection for their children. ‘It’s such a joy to see them grow and flourish.’

And Camden isn’t the only one growing up fast.

In a casual moment, the host mentioned that they were washing Phoenix’s small Superman underwear and contemplated how he wouldn’t be in them for long. Meanwhile, they were discussing puberty with Brooklyn, who expressed her reluctance towards growing up.

But for Vanessa, watching their youngest child grow up might be the most difficult of all.

“All of Phoenix’s firsts are my lasts,” Vanessa said, “and that’s a hard thing to swallow.”

Yet, she eagerly anticipates each upcoming accomplishment that Camden and her younger children are about to achieve.

As Vanessa put it, “I’m excited about girlfriends and boyfriends and driving.”

Apart from expressing her appreciation for spending more time with her kids in recent years, Vanessa mentioned that one positive aspect of the cancellation of “NCIS: Hawaii” (where she acted for three seasons) in 2024 was the reason behind it. The Lacheys had moved to Oahu in 2021 when Vanessa got the role, but they have since returned to California.

Vanessa pointed out a positive side, stating, ‘With everything that’s happened, we’ve had more time with our children.’ Now, she’s fully present for all their moments.

In the year 2024, Vanessa and Nick Lachey celebrated New Year’s Eve at Disneyland together with their children, Camden, Brooklyn, and Phoenix.

Vanessa posted on social media, “Wishing everyone a Happy New Year from the happiest place on earth!” She mentioned that this was the first New Year’s Eve that all five of us were together. Laughably, all three children and their parents managed to make it till midnight!

In the year 2023, they marked Phoenix’s seventh birthday by continuing a long-standing tradition – building a gingerbread house, as Vanessa shared on Instagram. “Look at our youngest Lachey turning 7!,” she wrote. “He’s our miracle child whom we never forget to appreciate. The final piece that completes our family jigsaw, the one who brings us together… the sweetest addition!

“So very thankful,” their mom wrote. “our world.”

2024 saw the model celebrating her daughter’s 9th birthday with a sunny, seaside photo. “One to nine, it happened so quickly,” she wrote. “Happy Birthday to our Little One.

Vanessa went to see Disney on Ice with her children, and amazingly, she got a chance to meet Mickey Mouse behind the scenes. What a lucky family!
