The duo of producers Jerry Bruckheimer and director Joseph Kosinski, who brought us ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ this summer and ‘F1’, are now involved in a UFO conspiracy thriller that has multiple studios in a heated bidding competition! This dynamic team previously achieved massive success, spending years developing the sequel to Bruckheimer’s 1986 blockbuster Top Gun. Despite pressure to release it on streaming platforms, the movie made its way to the big screen over Memorial Day weekend in 2022 and garnered an impressive $1.4 billion worldwide, with six Oscar nominations en route, ultimately winning one for best sound.
In their most recent venture, the screenplay has been penned by Zach Baylin, a writer whose previous works include Will Smith’s “King Richard,” “Creed III,” and last year’s intense white supremacist thriller “The Order” starring Jude Law. Several major studios, such as Amazon, Apple, Lionsgate, Paramount, and Warner Bros., are involved in this project, with insiders reporting that the bidding is increasing at a rapid and competitive pace.
The UFO conspiracy thriller story is not well-known beyond being likened to ‘All the President’s Men’ but featuring UFOs instead. The intrigue surrounding it appears to stem from a man named David Grusch, a former US Air Force officer and UFO whistleblower, who is rumored to be involved in the project as a consultant. This individual gained attention in 2023 when he testified before Congress, claiming that the government has been examining alien spacecraft and their bodies, while keeping any related leaks under wraps.
