More details have come to light about the robberies of six high-profile athletes.
A number of football players, including Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes from the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as Joe Burrow from the Cincinnati Bengals, experienced burglaries at their homes several months ago. Now, federal authorities have indicted seven individuals for these break-ins, as reported by documents obtained by NBC News.
A criminal complaint filed on January 30 and unveiled on February 18 by the Middle District of Florida’s United States District Court has expanded the list of defendants from four to seven, all of whom were previously indicted by a grand jury in relation to burglaries totaling over $2 million in stolen goods. The men, hailing from Chile, are now facing charges for conspiring to transport stolen property across state lines.
On January 22, the initial group of individuals taken into custody comprised Bastian Alejandro Morales (aged 23), Sergio Andres Cabello (aged 38), Jordan Francisco Sanchez (aged 22), and Alejandro Esteban Huaiquil-Chavez (aged 24). More recently, Pablo Zuniga Cartes (aged 24), Ignacio Zuniga Cartes (aged 20), and Alexander Huiaguil Chavez (also aged 24) have been added to the list of defendants.
In my professional perspective as a lifestyle expert, I find myself standing firm on the grounds of innocence, just like Morales, Cabello, Sanches, and Chavez, who have all pleaded not guilty to the initial charges that have been brought against them. These charges allegedly involve membership in a criminal gang, engaging in corrupt activities as part of an ongoing pattern, obstructing legitimate business operations, and unlawful possession of tools intended for criminal purposes. As per court documents obtained by NBC News, these are the accusations we’re dealing with here.
Despite not being mentioned directly in the complaint filed on January 30th, the incidents described, which occurred on October 5th and October 7th, correspond to reported break-ins at the homes of two Kansas City Chiefs players. Notably, the total value of items stolen from each player’s home exceeded $5,000.
On December 9th, a member of the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals team had a burglary occur at his home. Thieves made off with designer luggage, glasses, watches, and jewelry worth approximately $300,000, as stated in a report filed after the incident. The football player had flown to Dallas just the day before.
In addition to these athletes, there was a Tampa Bay Buccaneers player with a total value of $167,000 in jewelry, watches, a firearm, and a suitcase; a basketball player from the Milwaukee Bucks worth approximately $1.48 million, encompassing watches, chains, personal items, jewelry, and cash; and another player from the Memphis Grizzlies with an estimated value of $1 million in jewelry, watches, and luxury bags.
* Every break-in took place when the victim was engrossed in a game. Additionally, the papers contained a picture of the suspects wearing what appeared to be watches and a necklace that were reportedly swiped from one of the crime scenes.

* All burglaries happened during the time the victim was playing a game. The records also show a selfie of the accused wearing watches and a necklace, which they allegedly stole from one of the locations.
Should they be found guilty, these seven individuals might spend as long as a decade behind bars in a federal penitentiary, as indicated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida in their official statement on February 18th.

For the athletes, however, the stolen objects were the least of their concerns.
During a recent press conference, Burrow expressed that it’s clear everyone is aware of the incident. He added, “My privacy seems to have been infringed upon in multiple instances,” referring to the break-in that was reported to the police by model Olivia Ponton.
The Cincinnati quarterback made it clear that a lot of information beyond what he’s comfortable disclosing is currently public knowledge. Therefore, he has nothing further to add on the subject.
He mentioned, “I find it challenging, personally disliking it, that our lives are so open to public scrutiny. This has been a struggle for me throughout my career, one I’m still learning to navigate. I recognize it’s the path we’ve chosen, but it doesn’t make the challenges any less daunting.

He went on to say, “I find it challenging, one of my dislikes, to live a public life due to the limited privacy it offers. This has been an ongoing struggle for me throughout my career. I’m still learning to cope, but I recognize that this is the path we willingly choose. It doesn’t make it any less difficult.
