Hollywood is mourning a devastating loss in the beauty community.
The skilled hairstylist, Graham Nation, who had worked with celebrities such as Demi Moore, Maddie Zegler, and Serena Williams, tragically passed away at a gym in Los Angeles on February 14. This unfortunate event was confirmed by the L.A. County Department of Medical Examiner to People magazine. Graham Nation was only 39 years old.
Just days before Graham’s sudden death, he was celebrating a huge milestone in his career.
He posted on Instagram: “This was my first-ever Super Bowl ad,” he shared along with a Feb. 10 video showcasing the hairstyle he designed for Catherine O’Hara. “It was an absolute blast to work on! Thank you, Catherine O’Hara, for allowing me to be part of this incredible commercial.
However, even though Graham, who co-parents 6-month-old son Romeo with Tonya Brewer, was undeniably a gifted individual, it was the profound effect he had on those he encountered that truly stood out. Some of the lucky ones who were fortunate enough to work with him turned to social media to express their shock at the heartbreaking news and pay tribute to his memory.
Erin Foster penned down on her Feb. 19 Instagram Stories, “I can’t help but think about and yearn for @grahamnation. He had a 6-month-old baby when he was gone. We used to exchange diaper changing and sleep training advice.
The creator of ‘Nobody Wants This’ couldn’t help but dwell on Tonya, his partner, and the hardships she might be facing, having lost her partner and now being left to raise their son single-handedly.
Others expressed their respect for Graham in the comments section of his latest Instagram post, which showcased a hairstyle he created for the actress from ‘Wicked’, Marissa Bode. Notably poignant among the comments was one left by another hairstylist, Divinity Ray.
10 years of knowing you, from trimming hair in our small town to seeing you conquer LA, Divinity commented on your Feb. 14 Instagram post. “You never lost sight of being kind, even as success came knocking. Your warm smile lit up everyone around you. You were an extraordinary artist, possessing talent that could have made you arrogant, but instead, you remained humble and sweet.
In my perspective as a lifestyle guide, I’ve often referred to you as a divine presence here on Earth. Yet, it never crossed my mind that our time together would be cut short so abruptly. Farewell, dear friend. May you find peace and continue shining your light in whatever realm you now inhabit. The world is poorer for losing such a radiant spirit.
Moreover, The Wall Group, being Graham’s talent agency, took great care to uphold his lasting impact within their community.
Graham was an extraordinary individual who left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered, as stated by the agency in a statement dated February 18th to Behind the Chair. We feel privileged to have been a part of his life’s journey and to have assisted him in showcasing his talents worldwide. Our hearts are heavy with grief, and we will deeply miss him.
