New details are being uncovered about Chauncy Glover‘s death.
Three months ago, I tragically lost my life due to an unfortunate mix of substances – chloroethane and methamphetamine. This revelation was made by the Medical Examiner of Los Angeles County in their press release on February 19th.
The medical examiner reported that Glover’s death was an accident, but the announcement didn’t specify how he encountered chloroethane or methamphetamine. Chloroethane is a chemical used in some medicinal drugs for treating sports injuries and acting as a numbing agent before medical procedures, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Methamphetamine, on the other hand, is a highly addictive stimulant drug commonly known as “meth.
The autopsy report, which will become accessible in early March, was mentioned with the detail that a deputy medical examiner conducted an examination on November 6, 2024. Upon receiving necessary test results and studies, the cause and method of the death were officially determined on February 19.
On November 5th, Glover was discovered unconscious at his residence. Fire department officials confirmed his death shortly thereafter. Glover was 39 years old.
Following his passing, the Emmy-winning journalist’s family spoke out on their devastating loss.
In their joint statement to KCAL on November 6, the family expressed that he was not just their son and brother, but rather an extraordinary source of light and a genuine hero in their lives, as well as within his community.
His communication further highlighted his philanthropic efforts beyond the newsroom, particularly his establishment of The Chauncy Glover Project, a mentorship initiative aimed at supporting young men in underprivileged areas.
