Lost Soul Aside is Blocked From Being Sold in 130 Countries on Steam

It appears that Sony is set to maintain its practice of restricting certain regions from purchasing PC versions of their games, following the trend seen with titles like Horizon Forbidden West. Similarly, it seems that the upcoming game Lost Soul Aside will not be accessible in areas lacking PlayStation Network support.

It’s been discovered by a user on ResetEra named Jamrock that the SteamDB page for Lost Soul Aside shows the game won’t be accessible in about 130 countries. Consequently, gamers residing outside these restricted regions will not only be unable to purchase the game for themselves but also cannot gift it to players living in countries where the game is unavailable.

As a gamer, I’ve noticed a pattern that leaves me a bit baffled. Similar to the case with the complete edition of Horizon Forbidden West, it seems that the game isn’t accessible in certain countries, even though it’s available on Steam and doesn’t need a PSN account to play. It’s quite peculiar, isn’t it?

In the past, Helldivers 2 has faced a similar issue, vanishing from stores in specific regions after a decision was made to mandate a PSN account. This move sparked some controversy.

Initially, Sony required PlayStation Network (PSN) accounts for the computer versions of their games, but later changed course. This move has been detrimental to some players residing in countries where the company restricts sales of its games. Similarly, the game “Lost Soul Aside” was initially slated to necessitate a PSN account, even for its PC launch. However, Sony has since reversed this decision as well.

Recently, a trailer for the game “Lost Soul Aside” was released, confirming that it will be available on PC and PS5 starting May 30th. Unfortunately, the game isn’t accessible in one of the 130 countries where it’s restricted. However, interested players can still pre-order the title through the designated digital store. Take a look at the details for its digital deluxe edition.
