Approximately two weeks past its February 4 debut, Warhorse Studios’ anticipated sequel to their 2018 medieval open-world RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, has received its initial post-launch update, labeled as Hotfix 1.1.2. This update is now available for download across all platforms where KCD2 is distributed, including Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG), and PS5.
The introduction to the changes highlights that the update introduces “significant stability enhancements, corrections for quests, and adjustments tailored for each platform,” and “refines your medieval journey.” However, to be frank, this update appears rather insubstantial. There are only 11 bugs specifically addressed in total, and apart from those that tackle crashes, merely two of them deal with substantial problems players have encountered regarding quests and technical performance.
During my playthrough of KCD2 for my review, I scarcely encountered any bugs at all. However, other players exploring medieval Bohemia haven’t had such smooth sailing (although the game is generally well-polished). On PS5, there have been numerous complaints about persistent audio stuttering. Both PS5 and Xbox players have reported significant visual glitches like sky textures flickering, weather effects vanishing and reappearing, NPC eyes and teeth glowing excessively, among other issues.
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, unfortunately, several problems and hindrances in different quests that were expected to be addressed with this update remain unresolved. For a comprehensive list of what was actually fixed, please refer to the section below. If you’ve experienced any of these issues during your gameplay, I regret to inform you that you’ll need to hold on for future updates to get a resolution.
Initial feedback towards Hotfix 1.1.2 in the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 community has predictably leaned towards dissatisfaction, as numerous players have voiced their frustration that key problems within the game remain unaddressed or unacknowledged in official developer discussions.
In their post on the r/KingdomCome subreddit, u/OK_ULTRA expressed concern over unresolved audio stutter issues in the PS5 version of the game, providing a clear example of the bug. u/silus2123 chimed in with disappointment, stating ‘Wow, they really didn’t address a lot in all this time.’ The thread reveals that many players had hoped for a resolution to this major issue, but unfortunately, it appears the bug remains unaddressed.

Regrettably, the initial update for King’s Court Definitive Edition 2 didn’t seem to address many of the persistent bugs and technical issues extensively, but I remain optimistic that significant improvements are imminent. Given that this was merely classified as a hotfix, it’s possible Warhorse Studios is working on a more comprehensive patch in the pipeline. Rest assured, further updates are promised by the developers, including additional content such as customizable hairstyles, horse races, a hardcore mode, and three DLC expansions.
Even though some annoying problems were discussed earlier, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is unquestionably among the top Xbox games and PC games expected to release in 2025, and it’s a strong contender for Game of the Year. This historical RPG has garnered excellent reviews and sales since its launch that it started making a profit within 24 hours, selling over 1 million copies during that time. It continues to hold high player numbers on Steam, and just recently surpassed the 2 million sales mark.
The sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance, titled Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, has been released on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC (through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG), as well as PS5. This is an outstanding role-playing game that should be on your radar if you’re a fan of the genre. At CDKeys, you can purchase it for only $47.39, which is an unbeatable deal!
