A$AP Rocky's Heartfelt Message to Lawyer Before Verdict Stuns All

A$AP Rocky has gratitude on the brain.

Before the resolution of his shooting case, Rakim Mayers (also known as Rocky) expressed his gratitude towards his lawyer, Joe Tacopina, who was praised by Rocky with some kind words.

In a recent conversation I shared with Extra, I recounted that he looked at me, held my hand, and said, “Joe, I feel compelled to let you know how much I’ve taken notice of your tireless efforts here.” He continued, “I see everything you’ve accomplished and I am immensely grateful for you. I am thankful for all that you’ve done for me, and we stand side by side through thick and thin. And I want you to know, I care for you deeply.

He commented, “It’s uncommon for a client to be in such a grave situation, yet he still found the presence of mind to express gratitude at a critical moment. It was touching that he did so. And it speaks volumes about his character.

A jury ultimately acquitted Rocky Feb. 18 of two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.

The rapper famously known for his “Praise the Lord” hits, warmly embraced his girlfriend, Rihanna, following the first not guilty verdict, expressed similar heartfelt feelings towards his lawyer after the trial. Tacopina then mentioned that the artist conveyed his love and referred to him as family.

Uncle Joe might be best described as a family member, since Rocky and Rihanna chose to honor him by inviting him to a unique celebration. Their sons, RZA Athleston (2 years old) and Riot Rose (18 months), were among those who attended the closing arguments of the case on February 13th.

According to Tacopina, they seized him and declared, “Our upcoming child is named A$AP Joe,” to which he responded, “I’ll make sure you keep your word on that!

After the resolution of the dispute, which originated from a 2021 disagreement between Rocky and his ex-bandmate Terell Ephron (also known as A$AP Relli), both artists publicly conveyed their sense of relief to the global community.

Rihanna posted on her Instagram Story on February 18th: ‘The glory is for God alone and God Almighty’, followed by ‘Feeling thankful and humbled by His mercy!’

Rocky himself also shared a post on social media, celebrating by saying on Feb. 18, “Don’t be stupid.” This could be a reference to an upcoming album he had planned to release in August 2024 under the same title, but its release has been pushed back.
