Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley’s daughter is reflecting on her parents’ past.
16-year-old daughter of “Teen Mom” stars, Leah Shirley, disclosed that she had come across distressing video clips showing her parents engaged in disputes, which were aired in past installments of the show’s series.
During the February 20th episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Leah confided in Gary that her friend had texted her something surprising. “My friend asked me if I’m on a TV show,” Leah explained. To which she replied, “Yes.” Her friend then said, “A video of you just appeared on my TikTok.” Leah responded, “Oh.
“It’s just weird,” Leah added. “I’ve been seeing a lot of TikTok videos with old clips and stuff.”
Leah, a permanent resident at her father’s household which includes his spouse Kristina Anderson, their daughter Emilee aged 7, confessed that watching the videos is difficult due to depictions of intense verbal and physical arguments between her parents.
She shared that she recognizes some old videos, presumably from when she was around 2 years old. It’s unsettling for her to view these clips because they often depict Amber yelling at her and then leaving. There’s even one instance where Amber is shouting, ‘Why is Leah crying?’ – a situation where Leah was in a completely different room, leaving her alone. It’s just strange, and those moments are particularly hard to watch because they remind her of herself as a child.
Leah’s bond with her mother Amber has faced challenges because Leah doesn’t have guardianship over her teenager and her six-year-old child, James, who she co-parents with her former partner, Andrew Glennon.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d say that, personally speaking, it’s been four long months since I last connected with my mom, and I must admit, the feeling of being left behind has instilled a deep sense of apprehension within me.
She told her father, “I believe my problems stem from Amber, as well as the events I’ve encountered.
For Gary, upon hearing his daughter’s confession, he found himself regretting that he could not have taken more actions to shield her from the pain caused by her mother.
Gary admitted honestly, “Leah, to tell you the truth, if I could go back, I’d have acted differently. I’d have grabbed you and fled right away. I regret leaving you behind. It wasn’t that she legally had custody, but I wish I hadn’t waited.
Leah assured her father that it wasn’t his fault telling him, “It’s okay. I don’t remember it.”
Nonetheless, Gary mentioned that the videos might trigger “past pain” in Leah, advising her to seek therapeutic help for a complete recovery. This is a step she wholeheartedly supports.
Dad, I’m determined to conquer this challenge,” I shared. “I yearn to find the strength to let go, to pardon her and simply move past this. It seems like having a mentor to guide me through the process of forgiveness would be invaluable, as it’s something I struggle with greatly.

In 2009, viewers witnessed Catelynn Lowell and her now-spouse Tyler Baltierra go through a challenging decision – giving their first child, Carly, up for adoption – during the initial season of the show 16 and Pregnant. After being together for 13 years, these beloved couple tied the knot in August 2015. Since then, they have welcomed three more daughters into their family: Novalee, Vaeda, and Rya.
Despite Carly’s ongoing absence from Brandon and Teresa Davis’ home, they continue to strive for a hopeful future.
2025 found me, an eager admirer, expressing my feelings to TopMob News: “My hope is my connection, it’s all about what she desires,” I shared with them in January. If she yearns for a bond with her biological kin, fantastic. If she seeks a relationship with us, wonderful. If she doesn’t, I get it entirely. Whatever her path may be, as long as it’s centered around her, the adoptee, because that’s what truly matters in this journey.
In less than six months into their relationship, viewers witnessed Maci Bookout deal with an unreliable Ryan Edwards on the show 16 and Pregnant. Despite getting engaged, these high school sweethearts broke up just under a year after their son Bentley was born in 2008.
Currently, they are making efforts to establish a collaborative parenting partnership. In 2023, Maci shared with TopMob News that Ryan has become more regular in his appearances, a consistency she notes might be unprecedented in their history together.
As a devoted devotee, I discovered my lifelong partner in Taylor McKinney from Texas back in 2012, and ever since, we’ve been diligently assembling our team. In May 2015, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter Jayde, and a year later, our son Maverick joined us. We exchanged vows in Florida that October, officially solidifying our bond.
In 2023, TopMob News interviewed a woman who spoke about her partner, saying, “He is simply my soulmate.” Despite facing challenging times throughout the year, she shared, “Ultimately, I’d rather face difficulties with him than be without any troubles at all with someone else.” Even when she feels like giving him a stern rebuke, she prefers arguing or going through rough patches with him instead of experiencing tranquility with another person. Moreover, they run a TTM Lifestyle fashion brand together in their joint endeavor as partners in life and parenthood.
Regardless of having new romantic partners, the MTV celebrities, bonded during the making of The Challenge, still jointly raise their daughter named Ryder.
In Cheyenne’s interview with TopMob News in March 2020, she emphasized that ever since Cory entered Ryder’s life, the most important issue for them was ensuring he became a committed, involved father and parent. She made it clear that she wouldn’t accept a role where he was only a part-time or superficial dad. Instead, she expected him to be fully invested. From the start, Cory respected her approach, and this is why they have been able to co-parent effectively.
Following the conclusion of their romance in 2018, they opted to rekindle their relationship. Cheyenne announced on Instagram during her 28th birthday celebration that she was back with Zach. In May 2021, they were blessed with their first child, a son named Ace, and tied the knot in September 2022.
In an interview with TopMob News in 2024, Cheyenne shared, “For the past two years, we’ve been checking items off our bucket list. Our dream was to have a baby, and we were blessed with Ace. We aspired to get married, and we had our wonderful wedding. We aimed to buy a house, and now we proudly call ours home.
Currently, I find myself desiring tranquility rather than pursuing new objectives. My aspiration lies in finding a peaceful spot, simply enjoying the moment, and cherishing our bond. I yearn for nothing more than appreciating where we are now, and fostering mutual affection. That’s all I truly seek.
Developing a connection during filming for ‘Ex on the Beach’ might not initially seem romantic, but fast forward several years and two daughters, Mila and Maya, later, Cory and ‘Are You the One?’ alum Taylor Selfridge continue to create ripples in their relationship.
2023 saw him revealing to TopMob News that he and his partner had recently purchased a new home. He also acknowledged the curiosity of many regarding their marriage plans, stating, “We’ve been discussing it. All that remains is for me to propose with the ring and for her to be aware of my intentions.” Taylor, he emphasized, deserves this next step, which they both eagerly anticipate. For now, they are focusing on making preparations for their future together.
After marrying Mackenzie Standifer in May 2017, Ryan sought help at a rehab facility not long afterward. Their first son, Jagger, was born in 2018, during the time when Ryan was still undergoing treatment.
In January 2020, the couple was delighted to welcome daughter Stella into their family. However, three years down the line, Mackenzie initiated a divorce proceeding. Presently, Ryan is betrothed to Amanda Conner, who is expecting their initial offspring together.
Despite ending their tumultuous relationship permanently in 2013, the pair have found a way to jointly raise their teenaged daughter Leah.
Amber shared with TopMob News in January 2022 that despite maintaining a physical distance, we still have a great time together. She added, ‘Our bond is strong, resembling a family more than just a relationship.’
Following multiple years as a couple, a proposal and a brief experience on the reality show “Marriage Boot Camp,” Amber and Massachusetts native Matt Baier ended their engagement in 2017.
Amber shared on Dr. Drew Pinsky’s podcast towards the end of the year, “At some point, I grew tired of listening and began to not feel as invested in our relationship anymore. It seemed like I was building a barrier to protect myself from getting hurt again.
As a lifestyle expert, I can confidently share my personal experience: I found love on the set of “Marriage Boot Camp” with a fellow crew member named Andrew Glennon. We officially stepped into the public eye as a couple at the 2017 MTV Movie Awards, and our lives were further enriched when we welcomed our first child, James, in May 2018.
Ever since that fateful summer of ’19 when Amber was taken into custody for domestic battery, my heart has been aching as I’ve watched the disintegration of my beloved couple. The ensuing legal battles were grueling, but in the end, it was decided that California-born Andrew would be granted sole legal and primary physical custody of their precious son. As an ardent fan, I can only hope for their healing and happiness in the days ahead.
The Teen Mom celebrity expressed to TopMob News that they’ve put in tremendous effort to grow personally and strengthen their bond with their children. They emphasized that while they’ve been open about their history of substance abuse and mental health issues, everyone deserves a chance at redemption and should not be defined solely by their past challenges.
With unwavering persistence, she emphasized, “Even if your path hasn’t been smooth-sailing, but you’ve striven tirelessly to evolve into a better, stronger, and kinder person today, continue pressing onwards just as I will. Know that I’ll never cease in my struggle for my cherished children, who mean the world to me.
Following an online encounter with Amber, Dimitri Garcia appeared on “Teen Mom OG” for the first time in April 2020. On the program, Amber revealed some details about her new beau, saying, “Dimitri is from Belgium and he’s 39, making him 10 years my senior. However, he’s quite an attractive man.” She continued, “I gradually opened up to him and we both felt it was a good idea to meet since we liked each other.
In April 2021, Amber shared on the Teen Mom OG reunion special that she was still in a relationship with Dimitri. She stated, “We’ve been acquainted for approximately 18 months, but I haven’t seen him in a year.” However, the couple didn’t make an official announcement about breaking up. Instead, Amber introduced her new partner, Gary Wayt, on a June 2024 episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.
In the vibrant autumn of 2023, I found myself connecting with Gary 2.0 on a contemporary dating platform. The moment I introduced him to my circle of friends, primarily the cast from Teen Mom, during a lively video call, he truly shone like a star in the spotlight.
Despite his proposal in May 2024, their relationship didn’t last long. During her brother’s wedding in North Carolina in June, Gary left them following an argument, causing Amber to file a missing persons report.
And while Gary was soon located, the duo’s engagment wasn’t the only thing left broken.
Amber shared, on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, that she endured believing her fiancé was deceased for approximately three to four days. She had to cope with the intense process of grieving and attempting to understand why someone would inflict such pain upon her. Currently, she is navigating a challenging situation.
She went on to say, “This man shattered me. Before him, I had always been steady. But for the first time in years, due to a man giving me a ring, I’m not functioning as usual.
After our bundle of joy, Emilee, arrived in April 2015, my beloved Kristina Anderson and I chose to formalize our bond at a heartwarming beach ceremony several months later.
In his 2022 Instagram post, Gary expressed that among all the souls he knows, yours is exceptionally radiant and beautiful. He also shared that he isn’t sure how he could navigate through life without you by his side.
In December 2008, exactly two months before her birth, the tragic accident that took Sophia’s father’s life had occurred. Farrah Abraham was her mother.
In the time span of more than two years, Farrah had an on-again, off-again romance with Simon Saran, a real estate agent – marking her initial significant relationship since the passing of her high school sweetheart.
Despite the bitter breakup they experienced in 2017, which was as unpleasant as a cease-and-desist order suggests, they attempted to maintain some level of friendship, albeit awkwardly so.
Simon shared with TopMob News that he holds no grudges against Farrah. He explained, “Our paths simply diverge – she prefers a fabricated existence, while I seek authenticity. I genuinely hope she thrives and experiences great success in every aspect of her future journey.
Jenelle Evans and Andrew Lewis, who are Jace’s parents, separated shortly after his birth in 2009. Unfortunately, Jenelle has had minimal interaction with her son since then.
On a 2019 episode of Teen Mom 2, Jenelle mused, “I do have a sense of regret since that’s Jace’s father. However, given his character, I prefer to shield my son from the possibility of being let down again. I don’t want him to reappear and then vanish once more.
In the year following her marriage to Courtland Rogers, and giving birth to her son Kaiser with ex-partner Nathan Griffin in 2014, Jenelle later tied the knot with David Eason on their North Carolina property in September 2017, just eight months after the arrival of their daughter Ensley.
Following a difficult period, David faced accusations of child abuse misdemeanor concerning Jace. Jenelle compared this situation to a smear campaign. She then disclosed that they had parted ways. “I wanted to file for divorce immediately,” she stated on social media, “but in the state of North Carolina, you must be legally separated for a year before filing, and you need to show separate residences.
Remember the charmer who asked then-girlfriend Chelsea Houska when he could “sign the papers over for that mistake”?
Completely in the rearview.
Despite the long history, reality TV star-turned-HGTV personality has a relatively peaceful bond with her high school ex, Adam Lind, who is Aubree’s father. As she explained to Us Weekly, “There’s no negative energy, and it’s an open relationship without any lingering resentment. We occasionally meet up, and everything goes smoothly.
Back in 2014, a chance encounter at a gas station ignited an unforgettable connection that would ultimately lead to my walking down the aisle with the extraordinary Cole DeBoer in October 2016. Our family blossomed with the arrival of our son, Watson, in 2017 and daughters Layne and Walker in 2018 and 2021. Now, we’ve embarked on a thrilling new adventure together: bringing our HGTV series Down Home Fab to life!
Speaking with TopMob News, Chelsea expressed her desire for their potential return to TV to be a positive and playful experience. She wanted to show the genuine side of themselves and felt this decision was perfect because it provided an excellent platform to do so. In her words, “This is such an exciting chance to make that happen.
Initially close friends who later got married in October 2010, Leah Messer and Corey Simms were high school sweethearts striving to build a lifelong bond. However, six months following their nuptials, the parents of teenage twins Aleeah and Aliannah chose to file for divorce.
Corey has been married to Miranda Patterson since 2013.
In the year 2012, Leah got married to Jeremy Calvert, and the following year, they had a child named Adalynn.
Even though they separated in 2015, they have striven to jointly raise their daughter, with outcomes that are not always smooth. Leah shared her thoughts with TopMob News, expressing, “I see the best version of myself reflected back at me.” She continued, “Witnessing everything they adore and engage in, and having the opportunity to encourage them and be involved in their lives is enchanting. I absolutely cherish it. I cherish being a mom, particularly as a mother to daughters.
By the year 2021, when Leah made Instagram official with Jaylan Mobley, he had already won over not only Leah but also her daughters, as a captivating United States Army officer.
The couple announced their engagement in August 2022, but broke up that October.
A year after her breakup, the ‘Teen Mom’ celebrity admitted to TopMob News that she needed it. She shared that she’s gleaned valuable lessons from her past relationship and, looking ahead, feels like a new chapter in her life is unfolding.
Kailyn Lowry had her first child, Isaac, with her high school sweetheart Jo Rivera when she was only seventeen years old back in 2010.
Despite parting ways a year later, they’ve established a harmonious co-parenting setup now, with Kailyn even co-hosting her canceled podcast, Baby Mamas No Drama, alongside Jo’s wife, Vee Torres. “We’ve come a long way since we were 18,” Kailyn penned on social media after attending Jo and Vee’s wedding in 2018. “I couldn’t ask for a better stepmother for Isaac.
Kailyn’s second child, Lincoln, became part of the team in November 2013, approximately a year following her wedding to his father, Javi Marroquin, who was then a prominent figure on Teen Mom 2.
Since parting ways in late 2016, their relationship has had its ups and downs. Javi and his fiancée, Lauren Comeau, who already share a son named Eli, revealed in December 2023 that they were expecting another child—this time a girl.
As a devoted follower, I’ve observed that Kailyn has had sons Lux and Creed with her partner Chris Lopez amidst their rollercoaster relationship. Regrettably, after numerous ups and downs, they decided to part ways permanently.
In 2020, she shared with TopMob News that there is no communication between us at the moment. She expressed her hope that things might improve over time, but she doesn’t have any grand plans. She didn’t express any negativity, only hoping for the best for our children, and whatever resolution may come their way.
With her current partner Elijah Scott, Kailyn now feels she has a solid base. As she shared with People, Elijah is quite distinct from her past partners and the fathers of her children. “He’s very different,” she said of Elijah, who is dad to her son Rio and twins Verse and Valley. “He works with concrete, getting his hands dirty on the job. But he’s also a devoted family man. He’s deeply rooted in his own family and ours, making him an excellent partner for me. I feel our partnership is well-suited.
A strong enough one that she finally said yes to one of his many proposals, in fact.
In an interview with TopMob News in September 2024, Kailyn clarified about her neighbor-turned-spouse. She repeatedly confirmed that he proposed marriage to her on several occasions. However, she never explicitly said “no.” Instead, she recounted, “I would say ‘Yes,’ but not immediately.
Though she admitted that the construction worker significantly altered her perspective about marriage, she’s not in any hurry to go wedding dress shopping right away. As Kailyn humorously put it, whether or not we get married depends on which particular day you ask her about it.
Despite experiencing numerous highs and lows since the birth of their daughter Kloie in 2017, Indiana residents Jade Cline and Sean Austin hinted to followers in January 2022 that things were looking up for them.
She shared with TopMob News that significant events occurred in our lives and substantial changes took place for Sean, along with his future prospects. I am incredibly proud of him and our current situation. Eight months after this conversation, the couple revealed their engagement, tying the knot in October 2023.
In an interview with TopMob News in 2024, Jade admitted that her relationship isn’t flawless all the time. However, she emphasized that they have a deep affection for one another and manage to keep their bond strong.
Ashley Jones, a native of California, and Bar Smith tied the knot privately in the year 2021. This happened four years following the arrival of their daughter, Holly.
But after calling off their romance several times, Ashley officially filed for divorce in 2024.
Following the birth of Nova in 2011 between “16 and Pregnant” star Briana DeJesus and Devoin Austin II, there were hints that they might rekindle their relationship.
2024 found me expressing my desires to TopMob News: “Nowadays, I yearn for a real man, not the boys I’ve been accustomed to dating in the past. I’m ready for someone who embodies true masculinity!
Following her appearance in the only season of ‘Teen Mom 3’, Briana later became a part of ‘Teen Mom 2’ during its eighth series, and welcomed her second daughter, Stella, with former partner Luis Miguel on the 20th of July in 2017.
Ever since then, Luis’ participation has been sporadic at most. As Briana shared with Dr. Drew in a December 2019 episode of Teen Mom 2, she believes he desires a family with her. However, since she isn’t offering that to him, he seems to want nothing to do with her altogether.
