According to reports, it appears that Catherine Tyldesley is set to come back to Coronation Street after a gap of seven years, where she will once again play the character of Eva Price.
In 2018, the actress chose to exit the soap opera because her character moved to live with her mother, Stella, in France, after the tragic demise of Aidan Connor.
A source shared with The Sun that Cath had been occupied with numerous tasks elsewhere, yet the absence from Corrie left her feeling quite nostalgic.
They had attempted to bring her back on several occasions, but the timing never seemed right. However, when the proposition for Eva’s comeback was presented, it was an offer they couldn’t refuse.
She’ll resume shooting during summer and reappear on-screen by fall. She’s thrilled and eager to return to her character, and trust me, you won’t want to miss her upcoming storyline.
After departing from the ITV soap, Tyldesley has since appeared in various television productions, such as Scarborough, Viewpoint, and most recently, The Good Ship Murder.
The latter of which she reunited with Coronation Street co-star Shayne Ward.
Although Tyldesley hasn’t come back to the cobblestones since her departure, the actress shared that she was invited to revive her character multiple times, yet circumstances have never quite worked out properly.
Back in January, she shared with Prima that despite Coronation Street seeming so long ago, it still evokes a deep sense of warmth and nostalgia within her.
As a dedicated cinephile, I’ve been approached on multiple occasions to revisit certain films throughout the years. However, my calendar has always been filled with intriguing cinematic ventures of its own, making a return a bit challenging. Yet, if a captivating narrative catches my eye, you can bet that I won’t hesitate to step back into the realm of film criticism once more.
However, if someone presented me with an exceptional plot and the circumstances were favorable, I would certainly reconsider. In other words, while I may not actively plan to return, I can’t definitively rule it out forever.
