Always Sunny & Pee-Wee’s Playhouse Actress Lynne Marie Stewart Dead at 78

Actress Lynne Marie Stewart, recognized for her performances in Pee-wee’s Playhouse and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, has sadly passed away at the age of 78. According to her manager Bette Smith, who spoke with TMZ, Stewart passed away yesterday afternoon at her sister’s home in California. It was reported that she had been battling a tumor located between her liver and gallbladder.

Prior to receiving a diagnosis, Stewart completed work on Ben Stiller’s upcoming movie titled “The Dink.” Simultaneously, she also continued working on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” In a statement released to TMZ, Smith expressed, “She was the most gifted, hilarious, and honorable individual I have ever encountered in my life.

Stewart’s friend Cassandra Peterson (well-known for her role as Elvira) expressed a heartfelt tribute on Instagram about the passing of their dear friend Lynne Stewart. In her post, she described her as one of the kindest, sweetest, and funniest individuals ever to live. Lynne Stewart, famously known as Miss Yvonne from Pee-wee’s Playhouse, will forever be remembered as ‘the most beautiful woman in Puppetland’.

Stewart’s portrayal of Miss Yvonne is cherished by numerous fans of Pee-wee’s Playhouse, as the character known as The Most Beautiful Woman in Puppetland was seen from 1986 to 1990 in productions such as Pee-wee’s Big Adventure and Big Top Pee-wee.

In Philadelphia’s “It’s Always Sunny,” Stewart took on the character of Bonnie, who is Charlie Kelly’s mom. You might recognize Stewart from roles in George Lucas’ film “American Graffiti” and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s movie “The Running Man.” Additionally, Stewart has made appearances in numerous TV shows such as “MASH,” “CHiPs,” “Laverne & Shirley,” and even the 1988 series “Elvira: Mistress of the Dark.

Additionally, she made appearances in numerous productions related to comics, such as the 1988 version of Superman, Batman: The Animated Series, The Tick, Here Come the Munsters, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, and Batman vs. Two-Face.
