Vicki Fowler Returns to EastEnders After 20 Years with Shocking New Characters!

Viewers of the long-running series EastEnders felt heartbroken during their special 40th-anniversary episodes when, in the last part, beloved character Martin Fowler (played by James Bye) perished in the arms of his true love Stacey Slater (portrayed by Lacey Turner).

However, there’s some positive, though somber, information: EastEnders announced that Vicki Fowler will make a comeback to Albert Square after more than two decades, this time for her uncle Martin’s funeral. But she won’t be coming on her own.

Vicki arrives accompanied by her new beau Ross and his child, Joel. This unexpected trio stirs up quite a commotion among the Walford locals, as they’d believed Vicki was still with her longtime partner, Spencer Moon.

Upon Vicki’s entrance into Walford together with Joel, both Sharon (her sister) and Alfie (Spencer’s brother) are taken aback. However, it quickly emerges that Vicki has strong feelings for Ross and the pair seem determined to win over her family, aiming to establish a closer relationship with them.

In the new setup, Andor’s Alice Haig steps into the shoes of Vicki Fowler. She will be working alongside The Bill’s Alex Walkinshaw, who plays her partner Ross, while Max Murray enters the scene as their son Joel.

In a delightful turn of events, Chris Clenshaw, our executive producer, expressed his joy about having Alice, Alex, and Max on board with us. Vicki is rejoining the team under unfortunate circumstances as she portrays Michelle’s distressed character. Since we last saw her, Vicki has experienced significant changes.

We can’t wait for audiences to meet up with Vicki again, and also to present Ross and Joel to the Square! Soon, Vicki and the latest members of the Fowler clan will be creating quite a stir in Walford.

Haig expressed her enthusiasm about her role by saying: “I am thrilled! I’ve always been a fan of the show, and it’s fascinating that I was born in the same year as EastEnders – 1985. It’s incredibly exciting to embody a character like Vicki. We may believe we understand her, but there are many changes ahead. I can hardly wait for all the drama unfolding on Albert Square!

Discussing his character Ross, actor Alex Walkinshaw expressed his enthusiasm by saying: “I’m absolutely thrilled because I have many friends who have worked on EastEnders over the years, and I’ve always heard great things about it. This show is top-notch drama, and I can hardly wait to jump right in!

Ross is a dedicated, diligent individual who prioritizes his family above all else. He’s deeply in love with Vicki, but their relationship isn’t always smooth-sailing.

According to Murray, it’s truly a pleasure and honor to become part of this exceptional show, filled with a delightful team. I can’t wait to present Joel to the audience of EastEnders and share his tale.

Previously portrayed by Emma Herry, Samantha Leigh Martin, and Scarlett Alice Johnson, Vicki Fowler was last depicted on the show in 2004, having departed Walford to reside in the United States.
