Before March arrives, Xbox Game Pass has unveiled a game slated for May release: “To a T“. This morning, both Xbox and Anna Purna Interactive have set its release date for May 28th. As of now, it’s uncertain whether the game will be accessible via cloud streaming or PC Game Pass (though it is bound for Steam). Yet, we do know that the game can only be installed on Xbox Series X|S, and not on Xbox One. As the release date nears, more details are likely to surface.
If you’re not familiar with it yet, ‘To a T’ is the newest creation by designer Keita Takahashi, who is famous for designing games like ‘Katamari Damacy’ and ‘We Love Katamari’. Similar to those games, ‘To a T’ has an unusual concept. The game revolves around a teenage character named Teen, who has arms that extend outwards in the shape of a capital ‘T’. Teen is unaware of why his arms are in this form, but the people around him tell him that he’s perfect in this shape. In the game’s first trailer, we learn that Teen finds it challenging to cope with minor issues, as he confesses, “I find the small things hard.” You can watch the trailer here.
In partnership with the AbleGamers charity, To a T is being developed. This organization aims to provide more inclusive representation for individuals with disabilities. As such, analyzing the game’s themes becomes interesting as players navigate its world and complete tasks in unique ways. For instance, the protagonist, Teen, may require assistance from his mom and dog in certain tasks. However, it seems that his physical form grants him the extraordinary ability to spin like a propeller and fly through the skies.
Information about the upcoming game “To a T” is currently scant, yet there’s a significant amount of excitement building around it. Over the years, Takahashi’s past games have garnered much acclaim, and based on its concept and design, “To a T” appears to be shaping up quite favorably. With any luck, having the game available on Xbox Game Pass will encourage subscribers to take a look at it, even if they might not have considered doing so otherwise.
If you’re new to the games created by designer Takahashi, the duo pack We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie is now accessible through Xbox Game Pass. Although To a T may seem distinct from previous Katamari titles, it offers a glimpse into Takahashi’s unique style and helps pass the time until his next release on Xbox Game Pass arrives.
