Power Rangers Isekai Just Introduced Its Own Kamen Rider

The unexpected success of “The Red Ranger Transforms into an Adventurer in a New World” continues to astound during the Winter 2025 anime lineup, with even more surprises unveiled as the series adapted the masked Kamen Rider character from its original manga by Koyoshi Nakayoshi. The manga was a smash hit among fans due to its numerous references to Toei’s “Super Sentai” franchise, and the new anime adaptation has allowed viewers to witness these homages firsthand.

The Red Ranger Turns World Traveler

So far, the series “The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World” has playfully mocked both Super Sentai and typical Isekai anime themes. Now, it’s taking things a step further by incorporating more Tokusatsu elements. The most recent episode of this anime also introduced its unique interpretation of the renowned Kamen Rider franchise – Amen, a combatant who employs a gadget to morph into a masked hero, boasting a variety of coin-operated abilities. Notably, the device behind Amen’s transformations shares a familiar voice as well.

Fans of Kamen Rider would quickly identify the voice actor behind the Amen Buckle in Red Ranger Isekai, as he employs an identical vocal performance.

Who Is Amen In Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer?

In Episode 7, Asagaki and their companions venture into a desert’s cactus forest, encountering a band of enigmatic warriors guarding this unusual ecosystem, led by Amen. She reveals her intent to eliminate all intruders, producing a Sphinx coin from her purse – a device similar to those seen in Kamen Rider series – and transforming into the masked crusader known as “Amen.

However, what makes it enjoyable isn’t just the transformation process itself, but also the resemblance to devices from the popular Kamen Rider series. The voice you hear might well be Mark Okita, who provided voices for various transformation devices in Kamen Rider Decade. This period, being a special anniversary era for the franchise, allowed Decade to draw upon powers from past Kamen Riders, and this is reminiscent of Amen’s hinted abilities.

An Anime Celebrating Super Sentai and Kamen Rider

Toei’s beloved franchises, Super Sentai and Kamen Rider, have been around for more than half a century, yet surprisingly they haven’t received many dedicated anime adaptations. Despite their immense popularity from their initial releases, the success of these Tokusatsu franchises has not necessitated a full anime transformation just yet. However, spin-offs such as “The Red Ranger’s Adventure in Another World” are offering unique tributes that breathe new life into these classic series in an extraordinary fashion.

The anime “The Red Ranger Transforms into an Adventurer in a New World” has introduced its own Kamen Rider and hinted at a sixth Ranger in a past episode, opening up possibilities for additional Tokusatsu characters in future episodes. We could see references to metallic heroes, space heroes, and more, so let’s hope the series chooses to pay tribute to even more heroes in the upcoming storylines.
