Tina Knowles Reveals Stunning Reaction to Beyoncé’s Historic Grammy Win!

Tina Knowles has no doubt about Beyoncé’s power.

However, even Tina found herself at a loss for words when her eldest child, unexpectedly won Album of the Year for “Cowboy Carter.” Intriguingly, she mentioned that she was in the company of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s 7-year-old twins Rumi and Sir Carter. The three of them were privy to the heartwarming moment when Tina’s daughter was joined onstage by her sister Blue Ivy Carter, who is 13 years old.

On February 24th, during an interview on the Jennifer Hudson Show, Tina stated, “I had been at her house, assisting her and Blue in preparation. What transpired, though, I hadn’t foreseen it at all. I was absolutely flabbergasted, utterly shocked.

She went on to say, “For a moment, I found myself in disbelief, and then, there we were, my granddaughter Rumi, my grandson Sir, and I, all just sitting quietly together. It was hard for me to accept the truth of it.

It was quite surprising when Beyoncé, who looked shocked after winning Best Country Album, seemed unlikely to win Album of the Year, given she had previously amassed a total of 99 Grammy nominations and 35 awards, but hadn’t won in the Album of the Year category before.

The 71-year-old expressed, “I’ve had this expectation numerous times before, but unfortunately it didn’t come to pass when my daughter was nominated for that category on four occasions.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that I found myself standing atop the music world once more during this year’s Grammy Awards. Not only did I extend my record as the most decorated artist in history with three new wins, but I made history yet again by becoming the first Black woman of the 21st century to claim the coveted Album of the Year award.

In accepting this prestigious honor, I took a moment to reflect on the years when I was overlooked in this category and acknowledge the trailblazing women who came before me, such as the remarkable country legend, Linda Martell. It’s moments like these that remind us all of the importance of recognizing and celebrating our predecessors and continuing to break barriers for future generations.

“She expressed a strong sense of satisfaction and gratitude while speaking at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 2. ‘Its been a long time coming,’ she said, before adding that she wanted to honor Miss Linda Martell for her trailblazing efforts. She concluded by expressing hope that we continue to break down barriers and move forward.”

In the midst of both triumphs and a bit of resistance from certain artists in the country music sphere, the artist known as “16 Carriages” has previously shared the reasons for her choice to venture into country music.

In a March 2024 Instagram post, she expressed that she was born from an encounter long ago where she didn’t feel welcomed and it was undeniably apparent. However, this unfavorable experience led her to delve deeper into the past of Country music, exploring its extensive musical heritage. It’s heartening to observe how music can bring together a multitude of individuals worldwide, while at the same time elevating the voices of those who have devoted their lives to educating us about our musical history.

Keep reading to look back at Beyoncé’s historic Grammys run…

2000 saw Beyoncé make her debut at the Grammys as a member of Destiny’s Child alongside Kelly Rowland, Farrah Franklin, and Michelle Williams. This quartet was up for two first-time nominations, but unfortunately, they left the ceremony empty-handed in terms of Grammy awards.

In the subsequent Grammy Awards the following year, Destiny’s Child performed as a three-piece, sporting looks that have since become iconic. With five nominations, they won two awards.

The next year at the Grammy Awards, Destiny’s Child appeared as a trio, wearing now-iconic coordinated outfits. They were nominated for five awards and ended up taking home two statues.

At her first-ever solo performance at the Grammy Awards, Beyoncé teamed up with Prince on stage to deliver a thrilling duet during which they sang a collection of his classic songs.

Expanding her collection of Grammy Awards, the singer took home five trophies following nominations in six different categories as a solo act.

Apart from being nominated in four distinct categories, including the accolade for Best Contemporary R&B Album, and triumphantly winning that category, the illustrious star of Dreamgirls left the audience spellbound with a rendition of her chart-topping track “Listen” from the movie.

Once more, I find myself in the running for recognition – this time, nominated across not one but three categories. The legendary Beyoncé made Grammy history by gracing the stage alongside none other than the iconic Tina Turner for an unforgettable rendition of “Proud Mary”. It was a moment that truly showcased the power and timeless appeal of their collective talent.

2010 marked a particularly triumphant evening for Beyoncé at the Grammy Awards, as she took home an impressive total of six awards – her personal best for a single ceremony so far.

Following the unexpected release of her fifth album titled “Beyoncé“, the star and her spouse Jay-Z initiated the 2014 Grammys with an indelible performance of their duet, “Drunk in Love”. The subsequent year, they were awarded two Grammy Awards for that very song.

2017 could undeniably be considered Beyoncé’s year at the Grammys. After the release of her groundbreaking album, Lemonade, in 2016, she collected an impressive nine nominations. Pregnant with twins Rumi and Sir at the time, Beyoncé went on to win in two categories: Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Music Video. She also put on a captivating performance that night, showcasing a medley of songs from her successful album. The cherry on top was the admiration expressed by Adele during her acceptance speeches for Record of the Year and Album of the Year, where she openly gushed about Beyoncé.

Should you have a desire to witness Grammy royalty, there’s no need to search any further; simply cast your eyes upon this 2018 performance by Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and their eldest child, Blue Ivy Carter.

At the 2021 Grammys, Beyoncé didn’t just take home awards; she made history by becoming the female artist with the most Grammy wins ever, thanks to her impressive four victories that night.

In November 2022, Beyoncé received nine Grammy nominations for the 2023 ceremony, equaling her spouse’s record as the artist with the most Grammy nominations ever.

Beyoncé set a record as the most awarded artist in Grammy history by winning her 32nd Grammy trophy.

She softly said, through tears, “I’m making an effort to stay composed and simply accept this evening,” after the album Renaissance was awarded Best Dance/Electronic Album. “I want to express my gratitude to my wonderful husband, my three lovely children who are at home watching. I also want to thank the queer community for your love and for creating this genre. May God bless you all. Thank you so much, Grammys.

At the unveiling of the 2025 award show’s nominees, Beyoncé earned an impressive 11 nominations, placing her as the record-holding Grammys artist with a staggering 99 nominations in total.

At the 2025 event, the artist famously known as the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer broke a 25-year record and made history by being the first Black woman of the 21st century to receive the Album of the Year award for her album “Cowboy Carter“. Interestingly, this was Bey’s inaugural win in that particular category.

The singer expressed feelings of being incredibly satisfied and deeply appreciative. He had gone without victory for more than twenty years. “A long, long time,” he added.
