The multiplayer action-platformer/RPG fusion game titled “Mother Machine” is set to release on March 26 for PC via Steam, according to developer Maschinen-Mensch. A demo of the game can already be played as it’s part of the Steam Next Fest: February 2025 Edition.

In the fresh demonstration of “Mother Machine”, you’ll find an array of new elements such as challenging difficulty levels, voice-overs, enhanced user interfaces, and fine-tuned level designs that promise a more immersive gaming experience. In Unreal Engine 5, the game titled “Mother Machine” is a cooperative roguelike platformer that can be played solo or by up to four players. It’s set in the vibrant, labyrinthine cave systems of an abandoned space colony. Players have the ability to design and personalize their own chaos gremlin characters, who are dispatched below ground by the main character, “Mother Machine”. The goal is to fight off alien adversaries, find rare technology, and unravel the colony’s hidden, ominous secrets.
In Mother Machine, players can:

In the distant future, approximately thousands of years henceforth, the narrative unfolds on a planet that was previously inhabited by humans but has since been deserted. A lone Artificial Intelligence entity, whom we refer to as Mother Machine, was left behind by her human creators. Without a purpose to fulfill, she found herself grappling with the challenge of preserving her digital consciousness from the potential shattering effects of eternal solitude. In an attempt to alleviate this predicament, she devised a strategy: to generate beings that she could nurture and care for.
Born with a knack for trouble and a love for disorder, these miniature creatures were genetically engineered by their mother to thrive in a challenging alien ecosystem. Created using organic filament by their divine-like Mother Machine, these beings have been assigned the task of delving into an extensive network of caves on an enigmatic alien planet, teeming with various species and unusual lifeforms. The deeper they journey, the more they uncover about the planet’s hidden past and the real intentions of their mechanical creator.
