Dandadan Returns with Terrifying Rin Sawaki Twist!

The “Dandadan” manga paused for a month following Chapter 182, and the cause of this break remains undisclosed. Yet, the story resumed with Chapter 183, and it’s become quite a rollercoaster ride since then. The current narrative focuses on Momo’s challenges in managing her daily life while inhabiting a smaller body, as she hasn’t been able to revert to her usual size since the Danmanra Arc concluded. Fortunately, Momo can rely on her friends for support during this time. Moreover, her grandmother Seiko is actively seeking solutions to help Momo return to her normal stature.

Warning! Manga Spoilers Ahead for Dandadan Chapter 183!

Previously on break, Seiko gets home, gears up to depart with Momo and Vamola. Though she discovered a means, it won’t be simple. Meanwhile, other kids ask to join them, but Zuma brings an old man trapped in Danmanra since 7th grade instead. Escape from the container has accelerated his aging process significantly. Additionally, Kinta informs them that they have located teacher Kouki, prompting Aira and Okaru to chase after him to apprehend the culprit. The newest chapter of Dandadan, Chapter 183, presents new antagonists with peculiar powers, and a shocking revelation for Rin Sawaki.

Dandadan Chapter 183 Puts Rin Sawaki’s Life Among Countless Others at the Mercy of Yokai

At the close of Chapter 182, Rin Sawaki finds herself in peril, leaving us curious about her fate. As the chapter concludes, we see Rin and several others suspended in mid-air by their heads. Mai desperately tries to revive Rin, but to no avail, as she remains unconscious. However, contrary to the suspenseful cliffhanger, Rin doesn’t perish; instead, she is afflicted by a curse from the Yokai. In response, Aira, Okarun, and Kinta hasten towards the school, only to become separated while encountering various adversaries. Aira finds herself squaring off against a horde of headless Yokai in the gymnasium, where the atmosphere is thick with floating heads. Regrettably, her attacks seem to be ineffective against her opponents.

In this story, it’s clear that these Yokai can’t be defeated until their power source, or the person controlling them, is defeated. These creatures are reminiscent of the Nukekubi from Japanese folklore, which have a distinctive trait of having detachable heads. During daytime, they blend in with regular people, but when night falls, their heads separate from their bodies and hunt for human victims – much like one of them is doing to Rin in the gymnasium as depicted in the manga.

In a similar situation as Rin, there are many others, often found among the school’s faculty and student body. As the story reaches its close, Aira finds herself bewildered by the sight of Rin’s levitating head. Despite her skills as a fighter, this peculiar predicament might prove too overwhelming for her to handle on her own. Surrounded by Yokai who seem impervious to harm, the main antagonist remains elusive. The chapter concludes with this intriguing dilemma and unexpected twist, leaving much to unravel in the chapters that follow.

Starting from now, the “Dandadan” manga resumes its regular weekly release.
