Exciting New Nintendo Switch 2 Game in the Works by Beloved Developer!

The long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 is almost here, and various companies are gearing up to collaborate with this innovative system. Although it’s clear that Nintendo’s in-house developers are busy creating games, one of their external partners appears to be readying themselves for this new phase as well. As reported by Nintendo Life, Good-Feel’s official website is advertising multiple job openings, some at their headquarters in Tokyo and others in Osaka. The roles being filled include programmers, designers, planners, and more. Although the studio could be developing games for any platform, it seems plausible that they are concentrating on the Switch 2 given the current circumstances.

If you’re not familiar with Good-Feel, it’s a studio that primarily develops games for Nintendo systems, having been established in 2005. Over the past 20 years, they’ve built a strong partnership with Nintendo and have been given responsibility for some of their most successful intellectual properties. In the Switch era, this collaboration has led to titles like “Princess Peach: Showtime!” and “Yoshi’s Crafted World“. While Good-Feel has ventured into PC gaming with a few releases, such as 2023’s “Bakeru“, these games were also available on the Switch and weren’t released on any other platforms. Given this pattern, it seems likely that Good-Feel is working on one or more games for the rumored Switch 2.

It’s plausible that a follow-up to “Princess Peach: Showtime!” on the Nintendo Switch 2 could be Good-Feel’s next project. After spending years primarily as a secondary character in Mario games, “Princess Peach: Showtime!” allowed her to take center stage. This game introduced a fresh supporting cast, new villains, and distinctive skills for the princess, suggesting that Nintendo and Good-Feel were laying the groundwork for a standalone series featuring Princess Peach. It will be intriguing to see if this prediction becomes reality.

It’s likely we might see another game from Good-Feel for the Nintendo Switch within the next year or so, but it’s also plausible they are developing something tailored for the current Switch instead. Notably, Good-Feel was responsible for porting games like “Poochy & Yoshi’s Wooly World” and “Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn” to the Nintendo Switch, which were launched after the console had already been released on the market. If Nintendo chooses to release some exclusive first-party games for the current Switch during the transition period to a potential Switch 2, Good-Feel would be an ideal team to handle such projects.

At the moment, specifics regarding games for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 are scarce. The system was formally unveiled in January, and further details will be shared during a Nintendo Direct on April 2nd. Fans have been eagerly awaiting tidbits of information in between, but with February drawing to a close, it seems we might need to exercise patience for a while longer. However, since Mario Day falls on March 10th, there’s a possibility we could learn more about the Nintendo Switch 2’s Mario Kart game then. As for other details, we might have to hold on a bit more.
