In an interview with the Japanese publication Gamer.ne.jp, he shared that having greater independence now, he would welcome the opportunity for a visit to Nintendo‘s headquarters in Kyoto.
“I’ve never been,” he exclaimed. “I’d love to visit someday!”
During his tenure leading PlayStation’s independent developer program, Yoshida built a strong rapport with Yusuke Soejima, who occupies a comparable position within Nintendo.
He mentioned that these two platforms share a dedication towards “boosting and making known independent games,” which means they don’t necessarily view each other as fierce competitors to the degree that some enthusiasts might anticipate.
