Ashlyn Harris is scoring new goals with a little help from Sophia Bush.
After retiring from professional soccer in 2022, the athlete is embarking on a fresh venture by launching her iHeart Women’s Sports podcast titled Wide Open with Ashlyn Harris. Her partner of over a year stands by her side, offering support as she begins this new endeavor.
In an exclusive chat with TopMob News, Ashlyn shared that her friend from the show “One Tree Hill” provides immense support. With her extensive experience in podcasting and entertainment, she’s been motivating Ashlyn to step into the limelight more since her soccer career concluded.
The two-time winner of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, who parted ways with former spouse Ali Krieger in September 2023 and was later connected romantically to Sophia, plans to have a conversation with the actress from Chicago P.D. at some point in the future.
Ashlyn playfully hinted, “Sophia is likely to appear on the show.” She added, “We might make that happen when the moment is perfect.
Luckily for the soccer star, she’s enjoyed substantial backing from her close-knit group as she introduces her new television series, airing fresh episodes each Monday.
She added, “I’ve received tremendous backing from those who care about me deeply to motivate me to carry on, and I’m immensely thankful for this. It’s been quite a stunning trip during this challenging period of my life – divorce and retirement.
Regarding Sophia – having finalized her divorce with Grant Hughes in December – she had earlier expressed her joy for life, attributing it largely to her personal network, which includes Ashlyn.
In an interview with TopMob News in April 2024, she expressed, “Reaching here was quite a voyage, but I’ve never been more content, and that’s something truly valuable to me. One factor contributing to this joy is the amazing ladies who surround me.
