Teddi Mellencamp is on the up and up.

After spending two weeks following her emergency brain surgery for multiple tumors, the ex-reality TV personality made her first appearance on social media to mark a significant family event.

On Instagram on February 26th, Teddi expressed her birthday wishes to her little miracle, Dove, who she shares with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave. Teddi also shared a video collage of images of Dove throughout the years.

The accountability coach has come back on Instagram as she progresses in her healing journey following surgery to remove two cancerous growths from her head.

Over the past few weeks, Teddi has been battling intense and disabling headaches, as she shared with her followers in an Instagram post dated February 12th. “The pain became unbearable yesterday and necessitated a hospital visit,” she explained. After undergoing a CT scan and MRI, doctors discovered several tumors in her brain, which they suspect have been growing for at least half a year.

On the same day, it was Teddi, who is the second eldest among singer John Mellencamp’s five children, who was admitted to the hospital for an urgent operation on two of the growths. Moreover, she mentioned that the smaller remaining tumors would be treated with radiation at a later time.

Regarding her recovery, her younger sister, Justice Mellencamp, commended the reality star’s strength and resilience in the face of this difficult diagnosis.

It’s truly heart-wrenching to see a dear one endure pain,” Justice penned in an Instagram post on February 16th. “I’ve been doing my best to respond to everyone who has reached out, and I believe Teddi will discuss her experiences when she feels ready. She is undeniably the strongest individual I know. As I journey home today, I’m overwhelmed by a host of feelings. Yet, her network of supporters is unparalleled, and I can’t thank them enough! In February 2025, the former star of “Even Stevens” revealed that she had been accidentally shot in the face during a clay pigeon shooting excursion for her husband Brendan Rooney’s birthday celebration.

She posted on Instagram, “There was another person with us who carelessly discharged their weapon incorrectly and struck me in the face.” Immediately, @thebrendanrooney reacted swiftly, evaluated me, and hastened me to the hospital. I was injured at five spots, one of which was just a tiny fraction away from directly hitting my right eye.

As a devoted follower, I’d put it like this: “Regrettably, a piece became stuck near my eye, and it’s not safe for surgery right now. The doctors are keeping a close watch on me, fortunately, I can see clearly at the moment.

The actress expressed her heartfelt gratitude for being alive. “My daughters, husband, family, and friends mean the world to me,” she shared. “I had a close brush with death and let me tell you, cherish the people near you whenever you get the opportunity. Life can unexpectedly take a turn in an instant.

Although the internet isn’t always gentle, Amy Schumer is content that it aided her in seeking answers during this specific situation.

In an episode of Call Her Daddy from January 2025, Amy explained her reaction to online criticism about her appearance: “The internet really took aim at me after a series of interviews, and I was like, ‘Alright everyone, take it easy,'” she recalled. “But then medical professionals started commenting, saying they thought something was wrong and my face looked unusual. I remember thinking, ‘I’m being trolled by doctors?'”

When these doctors suggested she might have Cushing syndrome due to elevated cortisol levels or steroid injections, Amy pondered, “Wait, I’ve been receiving steroid injections for my scars.”

“I had a breast reduction, a C-section, and other procedures,” Amy explained. “So I was getting these steroid injections, which led to me developing Cushing syndrome – something I wouldn’t have known if the internet hadn’t been so critical of me.”

Now, Amy is grateful for her improved health. As she wrote in a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, “Learning that I had the type of Cushing that would eventually correct itself and left me healthy was the best news I could have received.

Hailey Bieber faced a terrifying incident that turned out to be the most alarming moment in her life. This happened during a breakfast with her husband Justin Bieber, when she started exhibiting symptoms similar to a stroke in March 2022. As she tried to reassure Justin that she was fine, she found herself unable to respond or speak properly, and her right side of the face began drooping.

A month later, Hailey shared this experience on YouTube, explaining that she didn’t immediately respond because she wasn’t certain about her condition. The facial drooping eventually ceased, but her speech returned slowly. Concerned, she was rushed to the hospital for checks.

The medical team found a small blood clot in her brain, which they classified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Later, further tests at the University of California, Los Angeles revealed that Hailey had a hole in her heart known as patent foramen ovale (PFO). The blood clot had traveled through this hole into her heart, escaped, and made its way to her brain, resulting in the TIA.

Hailey underwent a successful PFO closure procedure and reported feeling excellent since then.

In the same year that Hailey had her health issue, Justin also faced one of his own. Specifically, in June 2022, the “Baby” singer revealed he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition causing temporary facial paralysis which necessitated him to postpone the rest of his Justice World Tour. In an Instagram video at the time, Justin explained that the virus attacking the nerve in his ear and facial nerves led to facial paralysis, affecting his eye blinking, smile, and nostril movement. He also mentioned it became progressively harder for him to eat, but eventually, the paralysis subsided. Hailey shared on a June 2022 episode of Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, expressing relief as he was expected to make a full recovery.

Jamie Foxx initially chose to keep the details of his hospitalization in April 2023 private. However, later on, during his 2024 Netflix special titled “What Had Happened Was…”, he revealed what transpired. One day in Atlanta, he explained, “I was experiencing such a severe headache that I asked my friend for an aspirin. But before I could get it, I passed out. I can’t remember 20 days after that incident.”

Initially taken to a doctor who administered a cortisone shot and sent him home, his sister, Deidra Dixon, subsequently drove him to a hospital. There, they discovered the cause: A brain bleed had led to a stroke.

Twenty days following the operation, Foxx, famously known for his role in “Django Unchained”, woke up on May 4th in a wheelchair and was unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.

“I want to express my gratitude for every prayer,” he said, “because I truly needed them all.

As a diehard fan, I can’t help but share Emilia Clarke’s harrowing journey that unfolded during her filming for Game of Thrones. In 2019, the brave woman penned an essay in The New Yorker titled “A Battle for My Life.”

In her own words, she described a sudden, intense headache at the gym that led to vomiting violently and uncontrollably. The pain was relentless, and she knew something was terribly wrong: her brain had been injured.

Hospitalized for a brain scan, the diagnosis was grim: a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a potentially fatal type of stroke, caused by bleeding in the space surrounding the brain. Emilia had suffered an aneurysm, an arterial rupture. The pain during surgery to seal the aneurysm was excruciating, she recalled.

While recovering, she experienced aphasia and found herself muttering incoherent words. A week later, her speech returned, and she left the hospital after a month-long stay.

However, a 2013 brain scan revealed that the growth had doubled in size, necessitating another surgery. “When they woke me,” she wrote, “I was screaming in pain. The procedure had failed. I had a massive bleed, and the doctors explained that my chances of survival were precarious if they didn’t operate again.”

Thankfully, Emilia is now thriving, having made a full recovery.

Snoop Dogg’s daughter, Cori Broadus, expresses her gratitude towards her family after experiencing a severe stroke in January 2024. When she informed them about the incident through texts and pictures, they immediately rushed to her aid. Due to additional health issues, Cori had to stay in the hospital longer than anticipated. She explained that despite having the opportunity to return home following the stroke, her lupus wasn’t stable, and her kidneys were failing. With multiple complications arising, she faced a challenging recovery process. However, today, she is recovering well and is doing great. She mentioned that she only needed to regain some motor skills, but aside from that, she was in good health.

Shailene Woodley’s twenties were challenging for her health-wise. At one point, she started losing her hearing, couldn’t walk for extended periods without needing rest, and everything she ate upset her stomach. She was given different diagnoses by various doctors but found no clear answers.

Since she has a background in holistic healing and herbalism, Shailene decided to seek solutions from both conventional and alternative healthcare providers. This journey lasted for ten years as she grappled with physical discomfort that led to other issues like fear of food, body dysmorphia, confusion about identity, and feeling unsafe in her own skin.

Throughout this decade-long ordeal, Shailene also experienced mental health struggles. However, she is now feeling much better after addressing both her physical and mental wellbeing. “It was a journey that eventually resolved my physical issues, and I am very healthy,” she shared happily.
