Blake Lively has just one more request for Anna Kendrick…
As an utterly thrilled admirer, I can hardly contain my excitement as the sequel to “A Simple Favor,” titled “Another Simple Favor,” is swiftly approaching! The upcoming movie has just released a fresh trailer before its premiere at the South by Southwest (SXSW) film and TV festival on March 7.
In the February 26th trailer, the character played by Anna, Stephanie Smothers, is disrupted during a reading of her possibly authored book titled “The Faceless Blonde“, by Emily Nelson, who is portrayed by Blake.
Blake’s Emily enters as Stephanie ponders, ‘She’s always on my mind, that anonymous blonde I believed I understood.’ ‘Could she have been a stylish media representative, or perhaps a ruthless assassin?’
Blake’s character, wearing one of her signature campy menswear looks, smiles and says, “Boo.”
To which Anna’s character responds, “Did you break out of prison?”
Then, Blake’s Emily eerily whispers into the microphone, “Will you be my maid of honor?”
Without a doubt, the events take an unruly turn from that point, as it appears Stephanie accepts the assignment and decides to accompany Emily to her wedding in Italy.
The atmosphere grows increasingly tense as the trailer swiftly transitions and features voiceovers. One of these voiceovers, delivered by Blake, poses a question: “Do you believe I invited you here for revenge? To avenge what you took – my life, and more importantly, my child from me? You think I want to make you suffer?
Anna’s Stephanie somewhat breaks the suspense, deadpanning, “I don’t know, do you?”
Next, the scene shifts once more to Emily and Stephanie during Emily’s book reading. Emily jokingly taunts, “If I were to attempt to kill you, it would certainly make a sensational follow-up.
The latest trailer arrives during the tumultuous court case between Blake and director Justin Baldoni of “It Ends With Us”. Although fans have assumed that Blake’s personal and professional ties with Justin might be strained due to their ongoing disagreements, a source revealed to TopMob News earlier this month that Blake and Anna maintain a healthy relationship. The source added, “There is no drama between them. They are not adversaries. Instead, they are colleagues who work together amicably.
Simultaneously, the director of “Another Simple Favor,” Paul Feig, offered support to Blake following her accusations against Justin Timberlake, which were made public in late December.
On December 22nd, Paul expressed that he’s had the pleasure of working with Blake in two films and found her to be incredibly professional, imaginative, cooperative, gifted, and compassionate – one of the best individuals he’s ever collaborated with. He believes it’s unfair that she has been subjected to a defamatory campaign. He strongly feels it’s regrettable that she had to endure such treatment.
Later, the director expressed concerns about tension growing on the set of the upcoming sequel between Blake and Anna, causing a delay in its release.
In a January 10th post on X, Paul expressed his disbelief by saying, “This information is completely unfounded, I apologize.” He was referring to a now-deleted post discussing rumors about Blake and Anna. According to him, the movie has already been completed and will be released soon. So, he advises not to give credence to what one reads on social media these days.
As for Anna, she also hinted at the upcoming sequel’s excitement, sharing with TopMob News in September, “Paul has truly outdone himself by making this film more outrageous than ever.
The movie titled “Another Simple Favor” is set to make its official debut at SXSW next month, followed by a streaming release on Amazon’s Prime Video starting May 1st. Stay tuned for more upcoming movies in 2025…
