Kenan Thompson is reflecting on his bond with a fallen star.

After the unexpected passing of Michelle Trachtenberg on February 26, at the age of 39, a star from Saturday Night Live honored the former Nickelodeon actress on Instagram with a tribute.

In the clip, Michelle can be seen acting as a wrestling commentator during Kenan’s fight with the late Randy “Macho Man” Savage. “She was my friend and now she has passed away. Kenan Thauber also posted a heartwarming snapshot of them together from their early acting days on Nickelodeon. They both began their careers in the late ’90s, with Michelle making a lasting impact on two of Nickelodeon’s pioneering programs: “The Adventures of Pete & Pete” (1993) and “Harriet the Spy” (1996). Later, Michelle expanded her acting repertoire in the early 2000s, taking on lead roles in “Gossip Girl” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”.

Apart from Kenan, Harriet the Spy’s co-star Rosie O’Donnell also spoke highly of her recently. In an interview with Us Weekly, she expressed that it was “heartbreaking” and shared her deep affection for her. She added, “She had a hard time these last few years. I wish I could have provided more support.

At the same time, Ed Westwick from Gossip Girl also showed his affection for Michelle, posting on his Instagram Story, “I’m deeply saddened to learn about the death of @michelletrachtenberg. My thoughts are with her family and I send my prayers.

On February 26th, Michelle was sadly discovered deceased in her New York City apartment. This finding has been confirmed by local authorities, who have stated that, at present, they do not suspect foul play. An autopsy will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death. Michelle’s ex-boyfriend, whom she dated between 2004 and 2006, penned a tribute on social media.
