Finally, the long-awaited title for director Guy Ritchie’s forthcoming Paramount Plus series has been revealed, together with its scheduled air date.
The upcoming series, titled “MobLand,” is set to debut earlier than some might anticipate. It will first air on Paramount Plus in the United States, Canada, the UK, and Australia on Sunday 30th March. A global release is planned for later in the year.
Back in October 2023, there were whispers about a potential cast for an upcoming series. Fast forward to November, and the news was officially confirmed: Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and Tom Hardy are all on board! As a film enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement!
The storyline is set around the ongoing feud between two powerful crime families residing in London, each with worldwide criminal ventures under their control.
Although the specifics about the characters played by Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren are still undisclosed on Paramount Plus, earlier reports suggested that Brosnan might portray the head of the Harrigan family, Conrad, with Mirren potentially taking on the role of his strong-willed wife Maeve.
Hardy will be showing up as their “dedicated protector”, responsible for shielding them “in every situation”.
The cast has been further expanded, with actors such as Paddy Considine (from House of the Dragon), Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey), Lara Pulver (Da Vinci’s Demons), and Anson Boon (Pistol) all being added to the team.
In addition to the cast, Mandeep Dhillon (from CSI: Vegas), Jasmine Jobson (Top Boy), Geoff Bell (Top Boy), Daniel Betts (Fate: The Winx Saga), Lisa Dwan (Blackshore), and Emily Barber (Industry) are also included.
Based on the official trailer, the story revolves around Brosnan’s character, who leads a criminal organization known as MobLand. His struggle involves battling for power within an international crime network.
