Remember the Dark Souls Boss Fight That Broke Your Heart? Yeah We Want Him as an Ally in Elden Ring Nightreign

Hidetaka Miyazaki consistently surprises players by inserting challenging bosses even among the formidable enemies they encounter, a trait that has been present in every game he’s developed. This tactic has fans speculating that it might also be the case with Elden Ring Nightreign, an upcoming cooperative title from FromSoftware.

It’s common knowledge that Nightreign is planning to reintroduce several bosses from the Dark Souls series, such as The Nameless King and the Centipede Demon among others. Yet, there’s a particular boss from the trilogy that everyone found challenging to defeat, and fans are hoping this upcoming game will include it in their roster.

Fans want Sif in Elden Ring Nightreign in any way possible

Players of Dark Souls have always found themselves uneasy about the confrontation with Great Grey Wolf Sif. Unlike other game enemies, Sif wasn’t universally despised as a monstrous foe; rather, he was seen more like a noble guardian dog, faithfully safeguarding his master’s peaceful resting place in the tranquil cemetery.

Regrettably, in accordance with the game’s rules, it’s necessary to defeat Sif when the player encounters the boss. If you choose to play the Artorias of the Abyss DLC beforehand, you’ll have the chance to witness a younger version of Sif, saved by the player together with Artorias who is still alive at that point. This additional context may make the boss fight more challenging for players later on.

Given that FromSoftware is reintroducing numerous aspects and bosses from the initial Dark Souls games, it presents a prime opportunity to properly address the character of Sif, who made his debut back in 2011 – 14 years ago.

There are numerous alternatives for handling this situation. The studio has the freedom to act in various ways except for making the wolf into a boss character. Instead, they can present him as a powerful Spirit Ash, a skill that one of the eight pre-existing characters will heavily utilize.

Elden Ring Nightreign also brings back the most unexpected bosses of all time

In my gaming journey, Sif’s tale of unwavering devotion has always touched my heart. However, Elden Ring: Nightreign could potentially grant me something Sif yearned for in Dark Souls – a sense of tranquility. FromSoftware has moved me to tears with their digital wolves before, now maybe it’s our turn to stand shoulder to shoulder with him in battle instead.

Unfortunately, Elden Ring: Nightreign seems to reintroduce some of the most irritating enemies that players wish the developers had kept away. For instance, the fingercreeper is one such enemy that many feel could have made Nightreign a more enjoyable experience if they had been left out entirely.

In addition, it’s worth mentioning that the forthcoming game will resurrect a formidable antagonist from Elden Ring – none other than Margit, the Fell Demigod. This boss, known as the one who could invade your gameplay in Nightreign at any point, will make a return.
