Amidst intense conflict with the Automatons, game developer Arrowhead Game Studios has opted to put a temporary hold on the Galactic War metagame within their cooperative shooter game, Helldivers 2.
The halt is due to a technical issue (not the insect-like creature from “Terminator”), as confirmed by Arrowhead Studios on Thursday afternoon. They used social media to inform the community about the problem and its consequences, and also clarified why they have temporarily paused the conflict until the glitch is resolved.
Today, I noticed an unexpected surge in planet liberation rates following our recent backend update. It appears that this anomaly is disrupting the intended functionality of the Galactic War, making it more exhilarating but potentially damaging to its mechanics. Consequently, to preserve the game’s integrity and maintain a positive experience for all players, I have decided to temporarily halt the Galactic War until we can rectify this issue.
As the analyst, I acknowledge our oversight and take full responsibility for it. Regrettably, we cannot undo the impact of this mistake; nonetheless, I assure you that your significant order remains unscathed and will proceed as planned.
It’s fortunate that the recent decision won’t affect the ongoing Major Order, since players have been putting in great effort to keep control of both Bekvam III and Charon Prime, ensuring Automatons can’t reach their intended targets Julheim and Duma Tyr. To be honest, I wasn’t surprised when I found out about a bug affecting advancement in defense or liberation this morning, as I was taken aback to discover both Bekvam III and Charon Prime under the control of Super Earth just a few hours ago, despite my expectation that Bekvam III would fall and our attempts to reclaim Charon Prime appeared to be faltering when I checked in last night.
Unfortunately, at this moment, Arrowhead can’t provide an expected resolution time for the reported issue. While they’re actively working towards a fix, the exact timeline remains unknown to us.
The work on resolving this issue has begun, however, we don’t yet know when it will be fixed. Rest assured, you can still enjoy playing Helldivers 2, but for now, you won’t be able to contribute to liberating planets or furthering the war. We’ll let you know as soon as there are updates! In Helldivers 2, the multiplayer aspect focused on strategizing and collaborating with others to conquer or protect planets based on enemy movements is a significant reason for its community appeal. Each mission completed seems like a valuable piece of a larger synchronized endeavor. Although it’s unfortunate that this part of the game may be temporarily unavailable, I am grateful we can still engage in Helldivers’ thrilling action-packed gameplay while waiting for the online mode to resume operation.
A positive outcome of completing the ongoing Major Order is that Helldivers can anticipate utilizing the innovative MD-8 Gas Mines strategy to protect the vulnerable young adults on Julheim. Previously, Super Earth High Command had stated only one could be saved; however, by persevering on Bekvam III and Charon Prime until this problem arose, we’ve increased the likelihood that both worlds will remain secure.
Previously, an incident occurred that bore resemblance to this one – players rescued children confined within “Super Citizen Anne’s Hospital for Very Sick Children” on planet Vernon Wells by freeing the world, and as a result, Arrowhead generously donated more than $4,000 to Save the Children charity. The community is wishing for a repeat of such an event in this instance, though they are content that their proactive approach ultimately proved beneficial.
