As a dedicated gamer who’s been immersed in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 for a while now, I can’t help but share some insights about what lies ahead for this epic game. With a few weeks under its belt, the buzz is all about the adjustments and improvements developer Warhorse Studios is planning to make, taking into account player feedback.
We already know that they’re aiming to tweak the game’s combat and economic balance, as many players, including me, have noted it becoming a bit too easy. But that’s not all! Recently, Warhorse held an exciting stream to give us a sneak peek at the other changes we can expect in the near future.
First, we’ll tackle the minor adjustments, such as eliminating the persistent ‘Hold W’ tutorial that appears when you’re riding a horse. This tutorial has become quite meme-worthy in the community, but it’s also been a source of frustration for many players. It seems like Warhorse Studios is listening to feedback and permanently removing this nuisance.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that an upcoming feature for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is the Barber service! This exciting addition allows you to customize Henry’s appearance, from hairstyles ranging from mullets to handlebar mustaches. The variety is truly astounding. Plus, getting a fresh cut isn’t just about looking good; it also boosts your Charisma! So, there are plenty of reasons to visit the Barber and give yourself a new look.
Warhorse Shows Off Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Hardcore Mode
Hardcore Henry
In the course of the stream, Warhorse elaborated on how the Hardcore mode operates as well. This includes a peek at the assortment of bonuses you can opt for. Essentially, Hardcore mode will ramp up the game’s difficulty, and you’ll have an array of challenges to pick from, each one making your journey even more tough.
For example, one status effect is called “Bad Back,” which decreases your maximum load limit and increases the possibility of straining yourself when lifting objects. Another is “Somabulant,” which causes you to need sleep more often and gives you a chance to sleepwalk to unpredictable locations. Notably, Warhorse Studios has mentioned that certain areas within the game can only be reached with Somabulant.
In Hardcore Mode, not only will you lose extra benefits, but your compass and map location will vanish too, making navigation incredibly challenging. In fact, your map won’t reveal where you are, increasing the likelihood that you might find yourself stuck without a way out. You’ll need to rely on NPCs for directions and use natural landmarks like the sun and stars to avoid getting lost.
The broadcast from Warhorse provides information about the timeline for these upcoming updates. It was disclosed during the stream that the Barber character will debut in March, followed by the introduction of Hardcore Mode in April, a month later. This schedule offers ample opportunities for players to engage in various activities without rushing through the main quest.
