In Monster Hunter Wilds, Pop-up Camps have replaced the traditional permanent camps found in each area. Now, instead of stumbling upon fixed campsites, you get to choose your own fast travel locations. Let me explain how this system operates and break down the details presented on your screen.
How to set up Pop-up Camps
You can establish Pop-up Camps through the Support Desk, the Pop-up Camp Meowster at the Plains base, or by carrying a Camping Kit with you in the field. Locations for these temporary camps are marked by glowing quatrefly circles. Constructing each Pop-up Camp requires a predetermined number of Research Points.
Building a Pop-up Camp is possible only in locations you’ve previously explored within a given region. To set up a camp at the Area 8 Pop-up Camp site in the Windward Plains, for instance, you must first discover that spot.
Pop-up Camp Limit
On each map, there’s a set number of Pop-up Camps you can establish. As you advance in the campaign, this maximum number will grow. If you hit the limit and wish to set up a camp in a new location, simply visit the Meowster and ask them to remove an existing one for you.
A strategic approach would be to place camps at various locations throughout the region. This setup offers numerous quick-travel spots for swift movement when needed, as long as the camps remain intact. By the way…
Repairing a Pop-up Camp
Pop-up Camps may get demolished by monsters, making them unavailable for use. However, they’ll gradually mend on their own, and you can check the progress at the Pop-up Camp Meowster or Support Desk. The time it takes for repair seems to differ depending on the camp’s location. You also have the option to swiftly fix any camps by spending Research Points immediately.
Customizing Pop-up Camps
At both the Meowster and Support Desk, you’re free to tailor the visual style of each Pop-up Camp. Every region can showcase a unique design, ranging from various flysheet materials and colors, to markings on both the inner and outer fabric, as well as camp accessories such as seating and fireplace arrangements.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, Pop-up Camps are a fresh feature that allows players to determine their own fast travel locations. However, this newfound liberty also brings heightened danger, as these camps can be destroyed. Don’t forget to personalize your camp sites and seek additional assistance on our Monster Hunter Wilds guide.
