In the expanding lineup for the Dexter: Resurrection series, Michael C. Hall is soon to be accompanied by Krysten Ritter.
Deadline announced that the character Mia Lapierre, a famous sommelier, will be portrayed by Ritter, and it’s suggested she could be concealing a dark secret as a potential serial killer.
It’s been disclosed through social media that Ritter’s character will be portrayed as a notorious serial killer, named Lady Vengeance.
Ritter has been added to an already established ensemble featuring Hall, David Zayas, James Remar, Jack Alcott, Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, and Emilia Suárez.
Ritter is best-known for her roles in series including Jessica Jones, Breaking Bad and Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23, while she has recently appeared in Orphan Black: Echoes and Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
It’s been suggested that Ritter might reprise her role as Jessica Jones in an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe project. This idea is supported by comments from Kevin Feige, who oversees streaming, television, and animation at Marvel Studios, expressing interest in bringing the character back to our screens.
In late 2024, Ritter responded with enthusiasm: “Wow, Brad Winderbaum said that? That’s terrific news! Isn’t he the one who decides things? C’mon, Brad! Let’s get started right away. Let’s proceed. I’m all set and ready to go!
Ritter is now part of the Dexter series, as they are currently in an exciting phase. The initial season of the spinoff series “Original Sin” has concluded, and soon after, another series titled “Resurrection” will pick up from the debatable ending of “Dexter: New Blood,” which aired during 2021-22.
In the interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Clyde Phillips, the showrunner for Dexter, explained how the character managed to survive his apparent death in the series finale: “We discover at the start of Resurrection that if Dexter had been shot on a summer’s day, he would not have survived. This is an intriguing twist that sets up the events of the new season.
However, under freezing conditions, he was gunshot wounded amidst the snow. Miraculously, he didn’t lose excessive blood, allowing them to successfully revive him. This is the extraordinary turn of events that led to his survival.
