The action-adventure game, “Monster Hunter Wilds,” has been extraordinarily popular for Capcom, boasting more than a million simultaneous players on Steam in its first day. Overlooking its numerous technical issues, it’s also brimming with microtransactions, some of which are questionable and others less so.
You’ll need to pay if you want to fully edit your Monster Hunter Wilds character from the ground up
It’s clear as day: Monster Hunter is known for this kind of thing. Extra features aren’t essential, but they’re not like cosmetic items, discount coupons, or emotes that significantly improve gameplay in such a vast and complex game. Still, I can’t help but feel let down given the number of subpar DLCs included in a $70 AAA title from Capcom.
In truth, despite its numerous outstanding aspects, I find myself questioning whether this game would receive such enthusiastic praise if it weren’t a genuine Monster Hunter title from the publisher.
It seems quite clear now that many individuals are purchasing character editing vouchers in Capcom games. This is because this option is prevalent in almost every RPG title from the company, suggesting a significant demand for it. While it’s true that you can modify several character options without a voucher, the persistence of this feature as a monetizable aspect across Capcom’s game library indicates their eagerness to capitalize on such an easy-to-use and quality-of-life improvement.
