Where To Find Every Pop-Up Camp In The Oilwell Basin In Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter from day one, setting up camp has always been a crucial part of the game. Back at base, I’d prepare my meals and organize my gear before venturing out. That’s been a constant feature since the beginning, but things shake up a bit in Monster Hunter Wilds with the addition of pop-up camps.

These conveniently named camps can be easily erected in numerous spots across the globe. Although they have fixed locations, you must locate the suitable spot for setting them up. In the Oilwell Basin, there are many such places. Here’s a guide to their exact positions.

What Are Pop-Up Camps?

Pop-Up Camps essentially function as mobile camping sites. They provide almost all the same amenities you’d find at your regular campsite, including restocking supplies, changing gear, taking a break to adjust the game time and weather, preparing meals, and more. The only thing you won’t find here are the helpful NPCs from Base Camp. In essence, it’s not much different.

Pop-Up Camps can be set up in one of two ways:

  • Visiting the respective Felyne at each Base Camp and choosing from your discovered location to set up a Pop-Up Camp.
  • Using the Camp set-up kit yourself in the world to call in Felynes to create a Pop-Up Camp at your location.

If your Pop-Up Camp slots are full, you can only free up slots at Base Camp, not out in the world.

Be cautious while setting up a Pop-Up Camp, as monsters detecting them might choose to demolish them. If the camps are destroyed, they’ll automatically repair themselves after some time. However, you also have the option to use Guild Points to fix them right away.

How Many Pop-Up Camps Are There In The Oilwell Basin?

The Oilwell Basin hosts fewer temporary camps than both the Scarlet Forest and Windward Plains combined, but it does have several scattered throughout its expansive surroundings. In this area, you’ll find a total of eight temporary camps to explore, with a limit of five that can be occupied simultaneously.

For optimal strategy during your hunts, it’s advisable to thoughtfully select the campsites given that they are all scattered quite far apart from each other. This way, you will have numerous launching points at your disposal.
