Shocking New Evidence Emerges in Gene Hackman and Wife’s Mysterious Deaths!

Investigators are focusing on fresh clues regarding the demise of Gene Hackman and his spouse, Betsy Arakawa.

In the investigation surrounding the mysterious deaths of the couple and their dog, Santa Fe County Sheriff Adam Mendoza highlighted an empty prescription pill bottle discovered near Arakawa’s body as a significant detail that authorities are carefully examining while they work to determine the cause. This information was initially mentioned in an affidavit for a search warrant, which NBC News obtained on February 27.

Mendoza explained to Savannah Guthrie during the February 28 episode of Today, “That evidence found at the scene is clearly crucial, it was gathered and shared with the medical investigator’s office for their examination. We’re focusing on that detail, as well as any other potential medications in the residence, which raises some questions.

The investigating sheriff mentioned that the results from the toxicology test might not be available for as long as three months, and there’s a possibility it could take even more time.

According to Mendoza, the timing depends on the lab’s workload, but they’re optimistic that the results will arrive ahead of schedule. This would enable them to address some of the questions at hand, potentially expediting their research to establish the circumstances and cause of death.

The main detective mentioned it was challenging to create a timeframe for the couple’s demise, but it seemed they might have passed away several days, potentially even two weeks, prior to their bodies being found in their residence on February 26th.

As I listened, Mendoza clarified that authorities suspect their belief about the timings of Hackman and Arakawa’s demise is quite coincidental, as they were nearly simultaneous.

In my investigation, I found no signs of anyone being active in the house or performing unusual activities. Consequently, it’s quite challenging for me to ascertain whether they both expired simultaneously or were near each other when one passed. To clarify this detail, we are diligently gathering and analyzing all available information.

Mendoza stated that the autopsy report will play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation. However, the investigators seem quite certain that no foul play occurred, as they haven’t found any signs or evidence suggesting it.

However, he continued, at this time officials are “not ruling that out.”

Previously, the Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office expressed in the affidavit that the circumstances surrounding these deaths appeared suspicious enough to warrant a comprehensive search and investigation.

Based on the warrant, Arakawa’s body exhibited clear indications of being deceased, with signs of decomposition, swelling in her facial area, and mummification in both her hands and feet, when she was discovered lifeless in a bathroom during a regular wellness inspection.

Simultaneously, Hackman (found in the mudroom of the residence, thought to have unexpectedly collapsed) displayed clear indications of decease that were comparable and consistent with those observed in the female victim.
