After a prolonged period of concern, Sony has rectified a significant problem in the PlayStation Store that PS5 and earlier PS4 users have experienced. Although Sony has consistently updated the PS5 and now even the PS5 Pro over time, the PlayStation Store itself has seldom seen substantial updates. While it does receive weekly updates with fresh deals and sales, its design and functionality remain largely unchanged. This leaves PlayStation enthusiasts frequently using outdated versions for extended periods, sometimes without essential features or with faulty ones. In this instance, we’re addressing a feature that was previously malfunctioning, as this issue seems to have finally been resolved.
Previously, I’ve found myself frequently disappointed with the PlayStation Store wishlist notifications on the PS App. As a dedicated PlayStation user, I’d often add games I was interested in to my wishlist, only to find that I never received notifications when those games went on sale. This rendered the feature almost useless. However, according to PSLS, this problem seems to have been addressed in a recent update. It appears that Sony has fixed this issue and is now sending out notifications for sales on PS4 and PS5 games, finally making the wishlist feature useful again!
Is there doubt about whether the issue was deliberately caused or not, and if it will persist after being fixed? While it’s likely that the initial fix was intentional, predicting if the problem will continue is uncertain. Unfortunately, support from the PlayStation Store has been less than satisfactory, making it difficult to trust that fixes will hold up.
Just a heads up, this information is particularly relevant to folks who utilize the PS App. Those who access the PlayStation Store through their web browsers or directly on their PS4 or PS5 consoles don’t need to pay attention to it.
