As fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle” movie set for release in theaters this year, there’s an exciting new addition coming to the Demon Slayer series much sooner. This week, CyberConnect 2 and Sega officially announced the release date for “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2”, the next game in the series, which is also slated for this year. Set to launch on August 5th, the game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms. Preorders for the game can be made as early as next week.
The Demon Slayer game is set to debut earlier than initially announced, exclusively in Japan. A phased release has been planned, with the game hitting Japanese shelves on August 1st. Fortunately, this means we won’t have a long wait between launches for other regions. Preorders for both the standard edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition will start on March 3rd, with the latter two going on sale simultaneously, except for the Nintendo Switch versions which may have a different release schedule.
This week, Sega and developer CyberConnect2, known for creating the initial “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles” game, unveiled a trailer for the sequel. Similar to its predecessor, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2” will be a fighting game that also features an engaging narrative. Instead of merely battling online repeatedly, you can delve into the story and experience the Entertainment District arc. Of course, multiplayer combat is still an option if you prefer.
Fans of “Demon Slayer” have eagerly awaited the next installment since its initial release in October 2021. Now, news about “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2” has surfaced late last year, making the wait from announcement to release relatively short, which is typical for many anime-based fighting games.
As a devoted fan, I must share my thoughts on “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles,” which has sparked quite a conversation amongst players. It received a Metacritic score of 69, with users giving it a slightly higher 72, reflecting the typical response to games that juggle complex elements like fighting mechanics, balance, storytelling, and staying true to the original source material all at once.
However, let’s not forget that the first “Demon Slayer” game saw considerable success following its launch, with a series of engaging post-launch DLC content. So, even if this sequel doesn’t quite hit the mark for everyone, there’s reason to believe that more exciting developments are on the horizon.
The sequel to “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles” is set to launch on August 5th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC systems.
