Invincible has significantly shaken up the game with the post-credits scene for Season 3’s most recent episode hinting at the return of a major antagonist. Invincible Season 3 is rapidly heading towards its climax, and Mark Grayson has certainly been tested so far. He’s grappled not only with his perspectives on heroism and those he confronts, but also with the emotional toll of realizing that his actions have caused harm to innocent bystanders. However, as he struggles with his guilt, he’s about to encounter himself in a much more tangible way.
The third season of “Invincible” has been focusing on Mark following his perceived murder of Angstrom Levy at the end of the previous season. This act has significantly transformed him into a more intense protagonist. The death of this villain has cast a heavy burden on Mark, and it’s altered his fighting style. However, the finale of “Invincible” Season 3 Episode 6 hints at a major twist: Angstrom Levy is very much alive, and he’s gathered multiple versions of Mark from various universes for something monumental.
Angstrom Levy Returns in Invincible Season 3 Post-Credits Scene
In the third installment of the show “Invincible,” a fresh enigma unfolded surrounding a high-tech, floating surveillance camera that had been spying on Mark and his family. Mark initially believed Cecil was the one tracking him after his solo venture, but it transpired that even Cecil was unaware of the camera’s owner. The only information Mark gleaned was that the camera was pricey and cutting-edge. However, it eventually came to light that Angstrom Levy had been secretly observing him all along, despite having apparently perished at Mark’s hands in the previous season.
The specifics of how Angstrom managed to overcome his battle with Mark remain unclear, but it’s evident that he’s been pieced back together using technology similar to the hovering cameras we’ve observed. However, this revelation pales in comparison to the one at the end of the scene, which suggests an entire army of Marks from various dimensions. Given that Angstrom wouldn’t have contacted them unless they too had become villains, Mark must now be on high alert.
What Does This Mean for Invincible Season 3?
In two episodes, as per the original schedule announced prior to the start of Season 3, Invincible will reach its conclusion. This suggests that the impending wave of villainous Marks will significantly impact the final act. Initially, Angstrom’s contact with various Marks was an unexpected development in his character, considering his intense dislike for Mark during his initial appearance. However, following his brush with death at Mark’s hands, Angstrom appears ready to go to any lengths, including enlisting other Marks, to ensure Mark is permanently eliminated.
Despite all that’s been discussed, one significant element from the “Invincible” comics remains a highly anticipated addition for the third season. Given the current storyline, it seems likely that we might witness the introduction of this (possibly voiced by Jonathan Banks) villain in the upcoming episodes of the season.
