Following a relatively subdued February, March 2025 promises an abundance of game releases. Fans of various genres will find plenty to anticipate, whether it’s competitive shooting, role-playing, local cooperative play, horde-based combat, and many other exciting options. Here are fifteen highly anticipated games that you shouldn’t miss this month.
FragPunk
On March 6th, the highly anticipated free-to-play competitive shooter from Bad Guitar Studio, called Fragpunk, will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. This game is designed for fans of Valorant, offering an even more dynamic art style and unique cards that introduce various modifiers such as enlarged heads or flipping the level upside down. While it may sound unconventional, the blend of abilities and cards in Fragpunk is charming; let’s hope its gameplay proves to be just as enduring.
Split Fiction
In the words of director Josef Fares, It Takes Two surpasses expectations and is set to astound audiences. While his statements may lean towards exaggeration, Hazelight Studios’ latest cooperative adventure certainly appears impressive. As players take on the roles of writers Mio and Zoe trapped in a simulation, they embark on an adventure spanning science-fiction and fantasy realms, complete with an overwhelming array of gameplay mechanics. These mechanics range from piloting mechs, altering gravity, soaring on dragons, spacewalks, and even creating (and terrifyingly transforming) sausages – all scheduled for release on March 6th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Remarkably, only one copy is required to play with a companion, thanks to the Friend’s Pass feature.
Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster
Starting on March 6th across all platforms, Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster delivers just what it promises – a remastered collection of Konami’s initial two critically acclaimed role-playing games, enhanced with improved effects and high-definition backgrounds. Enhancements such as a conversation log, auto-save, and Fast Forward for combat are expected to streamline the quests to amass all 108 Stars of Destiny. If you’ve enjoyed Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and have been yearning to explore its roots, now’s your chance!
WWE 2K25
As a passionate WWE enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the limelight has been predominantly on the Bloodline in recent WWE events, so it’s no wonder that the upcoming Showcase in WWE 2K25, set for release on March 14th, is all about this powerful faction. It brings together past and present Samoan wrestling talents, while introducing a fresh social space called The Island for players to socialize. With over 300 wrestlers, a revamped MyRISE mode, online multiplayer for MyGM, and new match types, the game promises an exciting lineup of features!
MLB The Show 25
Sony San Diego Studio’s show continues to run non-stop, and this year, they’re planning significant upgrades based on fan input. The Road to Show has been redesigned, featuring eight licensed teams that adhere to the Path to 99 progression. The Diamond Dynasty is experimenting with rogue-like elements, narratives persist, and gameplay has undergone numerous enhancements. MLB The Show 25 is set to debut on March 18th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, but regrettably, it won’t be available on Game Pass.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Following numerous setbacks, whispers, and multiple demonstrations of gameplay, “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” is all set to debut on March 20th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms. Ubisoft has opted for a unique approach by featuring two protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke, while revisiting its stealth action foundation, enhancing the parkour system, and incorporating seasons. The game promises a wealth of content, including base-building, reconnaissance, loot, and intrigue from the late Sengoku era. The question remains if this title can help Ubisoft regain its financial momentum. That’s the big question at stake.
Rise of the Rōnin (PC)
Looking to add some humor to our conversation, let me share a light-hearted comment: “I hear there’s an open-world action RPG set in Japan that promises to outdo its predecessors – sounds like we’ll be dodging ninja stars and solving riddles all day long!”. But moving on to serious matters, the PC version of Rise of the Ronin is certainly something to get excited about. With ray tracing capabilities, support for up to 8K resolution and 120 FPS, compatibility with various upscalers, and all post-launch updates including tougher missions and fresh loot, it’s shaping up to be an unmissable experience. Mark your calendars – it drops on Steam on March 11th!
Killing Floor 3
In the year 2091, you’ll face new nightmares born from a fusion of the undead and cybernetic technology by Horzine. As a Specialist of Nightfall, your task is to resist these horrors, working with up to five other players on missions. The core elements of Killing Floor remain, such as highly customizable weapons, wave-based combat, challenging modifiers on higher difficulties, and graphic levels of violence reminiscent of Grindhouse. Some might be put off by the futuristic setting, but the full game, launching on March 25th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, promises a blood-soaked good time once you’ve had a taste in the closed beta.
Atomfall
In the aftermath of the Windscale fire catastrophe, a survival sandbox game unfolds around an isolated village. The rule of a stern military, cults, outlaws, enigmatic bunkers, mutated creatures, and a voice from a telephone booth urging you to eliminate someone are all part of the setting. Rebellion Developments’ Atomfall is quite unusual, even its main designer is curious about how it might turn out. It’s set to release on March 27th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC, so we won’t have to wait long to see if it succeeds.
The First Berserker: Khazan
In a time when the Les Pollos Empire and the broader world were confronted by the rampage of the Berserk Dragon, they sought aid from a legendary commander to restore peace. Yet, betrayed by his king, Khazan sustained grievous wounds and was banished…until the Blade Phantom inhabited his form, providing a means for vengeance. Despite your familiarity with the Dungeon and Fighter universe, the brutal yet responsive combat and breathtaking world design cannot be disputed. The First Berserker: Khazan is slated to release on March 27th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
Two Point Museum
Managing both a hospital and a university isn’t already taxing enough, but Two Point Studios is pushing human culture to new limits by putting you in control of a museum. Arrange exhibits and guided tours, handle visitors, design the interior, and even embark on expeditions to collect artifacts. With five museum locations and a sandbox mode, there’s ample opportunity – and difficulties – to master the art of curating. The Two Point Museum is set to launch on March 4th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
AI Limit
Stepping into another enthralling Souls-like anime-style action RPG, I find myself in a post-apocalyptic world eerily similar to that of Code Vein, but devoid of vampires this time around. As a new Blader, I’ve arrived at the last bastion of humanity, Havenswell City. The task at hand? Repairing the Branches, but beware – colossal beasts, ravenous warriors, and nightmarish monsters lurk in every corner, hungry for my demise. Prepare to dive into AI Limit on March 27th, available on PS5 and PC.
Wreckfest 2
Over four years after its initial release following numerous challenges, Wreckfest – the spiritual successor to Flatout – received widespread critical acclaim. Now, a sequel titled Wreckfest 2 is on the horizon, set to debut in early access on March 20th. Developers Bugbear are promising enhanced physics, intensified crashes, and much more, with plans for a revamped career mode down the line. While there’s plenty of content planned for later, at launch, it’s anticipated to be another resounding success.
Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone
If you needed someone to leap between dimensions and swipe the valuable artifact known as Chernobylite, who else would it be but Cole Grey, despite the risk of getting stuck? The sequel introduces a larger emphasis on action RPG-style battles and various character classes, yet you’ll still have to collect resources and endure across contaminated terrains, whether alone or with allies. On March 6th, Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone will debut for PC in early access, offering around 30% of the complete game.
