First Official Alien: Earth Footage Released (Including a Look at the Xenomorph)

On Sunday night, we caught our initial glimpse of ‘Alien: Earth‘, but it was brief. This sneak peek at the upcoming prequel series was part of a compilation promoting various FX Network shows, such as new and returning titles. The teaser lasted only about a minute, with the ‘Alien’ footage itself running for approximately six seconds. Nevertheless, this short clip offers us a chilling image of a xenomorph on Earth – an event that has never been depicted in the main series during its more than five decades. Additionally, the snippet contains a foreboding voice-over line, warning “When the monsters come, all you can do is scream.

The upcoming movie “Alien: Earth” takes place two years before the original “Alien” film, making it chilling to witness a xenomorph on our own planet. In a clip shown during the Oscars on Sunday evening, we first see a shot of Earth from space and then inside a spaceship as the stasis pods open, just like in the movie. Following this, we watch a group of heavily armed soldiers treading carefully through tall grass. The scene then shifts to show three main characters from the series: Sydney Chandler as Wendy, Alex Lawther as CJ, and Lily Newmark in an undisclosed role. They are seen in a wooded area.

In the upcoming scene, we’ll pan out to a bird’s-eye perspective of a hidden valley – possibly where our crash landing occurred. Later on, we encounter the xenomorph. We watch as tendrils oozing slime emerge from an egg similar to a face-hugger, followed swiftly by Timothy Olyphant’s character, Kirsh, appearing as a synthetic being. Afterward, soldiers march into a cave. The final image is of a xenomorph baring its teeth menacingly towards someone, though it’s hard to distinguish who the victim might be.

As per FX and Hulu, the series titled Alien: Earth starts with an extraterrestrial spacecraft crashing onto our planet. This discovery is made by a young woman and a motley crew of tactical soldiers. Unaware of the danger they are about to face, they confront the earth’s most formidable menace. The distributors have also shared some character profiles: Wendy is portrayed as an individual who appears physically mature but possesses a child-like mindset; Kirsh serves as her synthetic guide and instructor. CJ is one of the soldiers, and it has been revealed that Sandra Yi Sendcindiver will reappear in a recurring role as a high-ranking member within the Weyland-Yutani Corporation.

The TV series “Alien: Earth” experienced filming delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and 2023 Hollywood labor strikes, but production eventually concluded in July 2024. It is slated to air on Hulu this summer, although a specific release date has not been specified as of yet. Excited fans online are already scrutinizing every frame of the sneak peek, indicating that the show has captured public interest.
