More details are being uncovered in the investigation into Bob Bryar‘s death.
Approximately three months following his death at age 44 in his Tennessee residence, the medical examiner of Bedford County disclosed that the ex-drummer from My Chemical Romance was found near a considerable amount of nitrous oxide, as indicated by an autopsy report acquired by TMZ on March 3.
According to the report, when Bryar’s body was found, it was severely decomposed. It was located near three containers holding a chemical compound, and there were tubes connected to each of them, suggesting that they were prepared for immediate use, as reported by the source.
As a point of information, nitrous oxide, commonly known as “laughing gas,” is a scentless, flammable substance that can induce feelings of exhilaration when breathed in, as stated by the National Institute of Health (NIH).
Furthermore, according to TMZ, the medical examiner reported finding two dogs and antidepressant medication in the home where Bryar died. Yet, due to the advanced state of decomposition of the musician’s body, which showed signs of scavenging by animals, officials could not definitively determine the cause of death. Consequently, they classified it as “undetermined.
TopMob News reached out to the Bedford County medical examiner for comment but has not heard back.
In 2010, after six years of creating music and touring with the rock band My Chemical Romance, Bryar tragically passed away in his Tennessee residence on November 26, which was just two days before Thanksgiving. The last confirmed sighting of him alive was on November 4, according to reports from law enforcement officials to TMZ.
After the tragic passing of Bryar, the band My Chemical Romance, spearheaded by lead vocalist Gerard Way, paid an emotional tribute to their departed bandmate, who had chosen to retire as a professional drummer in 2021.
With great sadness, we bid farewell to Bob Bryar, a cherished ex-bandmate who significantly contributed to the story of My Chemical Romance. Our thoughts go out to his dear friends and family during these difficult times. [This message was posted on Instagram on Dec 2.]
The band added, “May he rest in peace.”
