EastEnders early iPlayer release confirms break for beloved character

It’s been a devastating few weeks for Stacey Slater (played by Lacey Turner) on EastEnders.

On the 40th anniversary episode, the cherished character found herself right in the midst of the Queen Victoria pub, which began to collapse around her.

Thankfully, she was rescued by her noble savior, Martin Fowler (James Bye). However, as they attempted to flee, a large piece of metal scaffolding collapsed upon him, trapping him. Despite her best efforts, he succumbed to his wounds and passed away in her arms.

Prior to his departure, the duo expressed their affection for one another in a scene that fans had eagerly anticipated for several months.

For Stacey, planning her loved one’s funeral only added to the already challenging process of coping with her grief. She had to maintain composure not just for herself but also for her family and the entire community of Albert Square.

Jean Slater (played by Gillian Wright) has been watching her closely, yet another restless night pushed Stacey over the edge.

During the conversation with Harvey, Jean verified that Stacey was temporarily staying with her brother, Sean, in an attempt to recover and regain her strength.

Viewers of EastEnders have long anticipated this temporary hiatus, as Lacey Turner, a beloved character on the show, recently welcomed a newborn baby only a few weeks prior to the live broadcast.

Jean indicated that Stacey was returning shortly, implying that not much time will pass before viewers get a glimpse of what lies ahead for their cherished character.
