2025! I can hardly contain my excitement as I eagerly anticipate the Glastonbury Festival lineup announcement. This year, it’s me, along with fellow cinema devotees everywhere, who get to bask in the glory of having Olivia Rodrigo and The 1975 joining none other than Neil Young as the festival’s headliners! What a stellar lineup indeed!
On Sunday’s final performance, it’s strongly suggested that Rodrigo will perform on the Pyramid Stage. Meanwhile, The 1975, fronted by Matty Healy, will serve as the headliners for Friday night’s event.
On Saturday, there’s a scheduled headlining performance by the legendary rock artist Neil Young and his group, the Chrome Hearts, which was earlier announced.
On New Year’s Day, I found myself unintentionally revealing my decision to step back from this year’s festival. The reason? I felt that the event had fallen under the influence of corporate control by the BBC, a belief that led me to make this choice.
In two days’ time, Young, who had previously been the headliner back in 2009, revealed that there had been a mix-up with the information and stated that the festival had been rescheduled to be part of our upcoming schedule.
Previously, it had been announced that Rod Stewart would take over the Sunday afternoon “legendary performance slot”. Excited about the opportunity, the veteran pop artist expressed his pride and readiness to entertain, stating that at the age of 79, he is more than capable of delighting and exciting the audience.
This year’s festival will showcase a blend of seasoned artists and fresh talents. Performing alongside them are Charli XCX, a five-time BRIT Award winner who headlines the Other Stage on June 28th, London rapper Loyle Carner, The Prodigy, and RAYE.
In the meantime, music enthusiasts can anticipate performances by upcoming artists such as Noah Kahan of Stick Season, writer of “That’s So True,” Gracie Abrams, internet sensation Shaboozey, and many others.
More performances are anticipated within the next few months, featuring Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter as possible new additions to the lineup.
In 2025, Glastonbury Festival is scheduled to run from the 25th to the 29th of June. The festival’s regular ticket re-sale is anticipated to happen in the spring season, similar to when it took place in April the previous year.
