In today’s Nacon Connect event, it was announced that Alex Murphy, also known as RoboCop, will be returning to duty. A new expansion called “Unfinished Business” for the popular game RoboCop: Rogue City was unveiled, complete with an exciting trailer. In this expansion, you’ll put on your mechanical boots once more and ascend the perilous Omni Tower to face your past. New weapons, devastating finishing moves, and missions await, including flashbacks featuring pre-RoboCop Alex Murphy, a first for the series. Teyon, the original creators, are back to help develop the game, with Nacon handling publishing. The expansion is set to drop this summer on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The initial release titled “RoboCop: Rogue City” was highly acclaimed by both critics and loyal followers of this cherished series, as it transitioned the franchise into a First-Person Shooter (FPS) format. In “Rogue City“, you assume the role of RoboCop, pursuing the lowlifes and criminals lurking in Old Detroit, while also delving into various cases connected to crime syndicates. The game offers an immersive first-person experience where you’ll engage in numerous firefights using your reliable Auto 9 or other nearby weapons, with the aid of your advanced optics for better aiming.
The action unfolds within the realms of “RoboCop 2” and “RoboCop 3”, allowing for some flexibility in the narrative. This is similar to what “Rogue City” did with its own storyline. Given that it’s an adaptation of a legendary 80s series, the game retains its classic dialogue and excessive violence, which were popular among fans. Moreover, the return of Peter Weller, the original RoboCop actor, adds a significant dose of nostalgia. Consequently, it’s not surprising that Teyon and Nacon wished to revisit the setting of Old Detroit with “Unfinished Business” and delve deeper into the character of Alex Murphy, as the series hasn’t seen a new installment since the 2014 remake featuring Joel Kinnaman.
