Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4: Secret Skaters to Be Unveiled?

Following numerous hints, whispers, and sneak peeks over the years, Activision Blizzard and Iron Galaxy have at last unveiled the highly anticipated remake – Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 & 4. A wealth of details about the game have been disclosed, such as some levels, parks, and new skaters that players can control in the game. Yet, this revelation has sparked more questions than answers for certain fans, one of which surrounds the playable skaters. While some familiar faces from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 appear, others are noticeably missing. Among them is Tyshawn Jones, a two-time Thrasher Skater of the Year winner who had earlier mentioned he would be part of the game before its official announcement. Although these skaters aren’t present, a previous playable pro skater’s comment hints that more may still be announced in the future.

In a recent Instagram post by professional skater Riley Hawk, he unveiled the trailer for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, which is set to be revealed on March 4th. It might seem ordinary that Hawk would share this trailer given it’s his father’s game, but what sets this apart is the message accompanying the trailer. In the caption, Riley confirmed he will appear as a playable character in the upcoming game. Unfortunately, the post has since been removed, but we have a screenshot of the caption available below.

It appears that Hawk’s recent post and Jones’ comment from last month suggest a possibility: All the playable pro skaters from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 might be featured in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. While this is somewhat speculative, it’s worth noting that other playable pros from the previous game have shared the trailer on Instagram using the hashtag “THPS_Partner,” including Shane O’Neill and Leo Baker who haven’t been officially announced yet. The exception to this trend seems to be Aori Nishimura, as there’s no evidence of them posting about the game so far.

In summary, the fresh additions in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 were Lizzie Armanto, Leo Baker, Leticia Bufoni, Riley Hawk, Nyjah Huston, Tyshawn Jones, Aori Nishimura, and Shane O’Neill. However, it has only been officially confirmed that Armanto, Bufoni, and Huston will be playable characters in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. While Tyshawn Jones and Riley Hawk have expressed their involvement in their own words, Activision Blizzard or Iron Galaxy have yet to confirm this. Shane O’Neill and Leo Baker have posted about the game using the specified hashtag, but their participation remains unconfirmed as well. Lastly, Aori Nishimura appears to be the only one who is not explicitly confirmed for the upcoming games.

It’s possible that we’ll find out about these potential skaters who might be playable at a future date. The announcements are quite cryptic, never explicitly stating who will or won’t be available. Since this is speculation, we can only wait between now and July 11th to see if our theory proves correct.

Regardless of whether these skaters make it to the final team, the lineup for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is quite impressive. Here’s a list of all the confirmed playable skaters at this point:

One notable absence from the roster that’s somewhat puzzling is Bam Margera. In Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, the Hangar level showcases large posters of each game in the series, including Tony Hawk’s Underground 2, which has Margera prominently displayed alongside the Birdman. However, the in-game version of this cover omits Margera entirely. This has led many fans to speculate that he might not be included in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. Yet, all seemed lost until both Margera and Hawk shared videos and photos on Instagram of them skating together at Hawk’s ramp. Could this mean that Margera may still be considered for the games? We can only wait and see.
