Assassin’s Creed Shadows Showcases Stealth vs. Combat Approaches for Naoe and Yasuke

In “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” the narrative follows two main characters: the shadowy and elusive Naoe, who thrives in the shadows, and the fierce, front-line fighter Yasuke. Each character will approach the infiltration of the game’s 30 distinct castles differently, but what does a bold Naoe or stealthy Yasuke look like in action?

As I delve into an extensive gameplay walkthrough, associate director Simon Lemay-Comtois skillfully demonstrates various tactics for each character as they infiltrate Nijo Castle. For me, Naoe’s shinobi tools, Eagle Vision, and parkour provide a swift and stealthy approach, but I can also opt to wield the kusarigama and engage in combat.

For Yasuke, a silent archery set is quite useful, but be cautious – his sole method of assassination is noisy. Direct confrontations may seem more intuitive, particularly when armed with equipment that allows for deflecting otherwise unavoidable blows.

Reaching the summit of the castle unlocks a synchronization spot, whereas defeating all the Samurai Daisho leads you to a legendary loot box. Each item is meticulously crafted and boasts some of the finest gear in the game.

The game titled “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” will be available starting March 20th across platforms like Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. The main narrative spans approximately 30 to 40 hours, but according to creative director Jonathan Dumont, additional content could extend its playtime to around 80 hours or even more.
