Update [7th March 2025, 5:45am]: In just under a day, The Sinking City 2 has almost reached double its Kickstarter goal of $108k, currently standing at around $200k.
The special perks are still up for grabs, including exclusive physical versions that come with an assortment of unique collectibles, which can’t be found anywhere else.
In this new development, Frogwares has unveiled a sneak peek into the gameplay of The Sinking City 2, coinciding with the commencement of its Kickstarter campaign. The aim is to amass $105,000 through crowd funding. The brief 53-second video highlights intense combat scenes, offering a fleeting glimpse of the reappearing Mind Palace and diverse environments. Check out the preview above as The Sinking City 2, due for release on PlayStation 5 towards the end of this year.

As a result of Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, the Ukrainian development studio has decided to use crowd funding on Kickstarter once more as a means to establish a financial safety net for potential difficulties. They employed this method previously with Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, and the funds raised through that campaign enabled them to continue working during power outages and swiftly relocate team members when necessary.
In a recent press statement, Frogwares CEO Wael Amr clarifies that the fresh crowdfunding campaign for The Sinking City 2 will serve a similar purpose. He stated, “After three years of war casting a shadow on our lives, we’ve had to learn how to adapt, although it has never been an easy process.
Besides the brief glimpse at the gameplay provided earlier, you can watch an extensive walkthrough of The Sinking City 2 in the video below:
In addition to preserving its original investigative style, The Sinking City 2 places more emphasis on combat elements and adopts a “horror as primary” design philosophy. This shift can be observed in the videos shown earlier, where Sergiy Oganesyan, Frogwares’ publishing director, mentioned: “We’re not abandoning our investigative foundations completely, but this opportunity to expand and push boundaries has greatly contributed to the team’s development. We’ve prioritized combat and exploration, while maintaining an atmospheric layer of investigation that adds richness, yet remains optional.
